My best friend (BM) mentioned to me that we should invite our friends for a brunch the day after the wedding (Sun of presidents day weekend). I think this would be nice but cant afford to pay for everyone. Is it ok to ask people to come even if you dont plan on paying? It would be like a 20-25$ brunch buffet at a local restaurant. We arent sure what to do about it.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
IMO- make OOT boxes with breakfast foods for everyone or ask someone to host it...I'm doing brunch but its at the hotel and we're still not sure if we're going to pay for it or not....it depends on what our $$ situation is around the time of the wedding....even then its only like $14pp w/ tax and gratuity...$25 is ALOT!

No you don't have to do it, especially if you don't have the money. It is a nice gesture, but not necessary.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
if u dont have the money then i wouldnt recommend it.
we threw the after wedding brunch as a way of saying thank you to our bridal party and our guests from out of town. plus the day went so fast it gave us a chance to see everyone and hear all the good things about the wedding
we paid for that ourselves

Re: day after wedding breakfast
We are having a brunch, I am thinking of putting a separate rsvp card in the invite for this so i know how many people to plan for.
I think its a great idea, and i am looking forward to it

Re: day after wedding breakfast
The hotel that i am using is giving us a deal on the breakfast bc we have a blocl of rooms.. I felt like i should do it bc these people paid to be in hotels to stay and cintinue the celebration with us, Also its nice for the OT ers.. bc they are spending a lot of money.//. If you dont have the money its no biggy just don't do it

Re: day after wedding breakfast
We didn't have one. It's a nice thing to do, but I don't think it's necessary. Also the morning after your wedding, you'll be tired and you may not feel like waking up for it.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
we're not having a RD (its not our tradition) but it is our tradition for an after party, so we're going to be celebtraing all sunday after the wedding at my moms house!!!!

Re: day after wedding breakfast
the only reason we are having a breakfast teh day after is that my parents want it and they are paying for it otherwise we would have it. We are paying for the wedding ourselves and as is we are barely affording it.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
We are having a brunch the day after but only for the people who stay in the hotel the night of the wedding, we are doing it right in the hotel so were not inviting everyone there would be too many people if we did. We are just using it as a thank you for people that came from out of town.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
Our hotel includes breakfast, but I've stayed at other Best Westerns and the food was so gross, think Friendly's - very fried and greasy. What if you all just go to a diner and people pay for themselves?

I don't think its right to ask them to pay for themselves. If you are going to have a brunch, you should cover the cost, otherwise just skip it. I don't think its necessary at all, and people won't expect it.

Re: day after wedding breakfast
I think it's rude to pay for some people and not others. Just don't invite them.
