Day Care Supplies

How do I bring everything I need to daycare everyday? Do I bring an extra diaper bag, or just use the one that I use, and leave it at daycare? How do I transport the bottles? Do I need a cooler? Thanks!

i would guess you just bring your diaper bag fully stocked. I am sure they have a refrigerator for bottles. Maybe you want to label them with your name and Caiden's name. Maybe you should call and ask them what they suggest?

Melissa- this must be so hard for you right now. I feel for you. When Emma started going to day care, I used the diaper bag that I had. But then everytime I wanted to go out, I had to unpack it and repack it. So I bought another diaper bag just to use for daycare. I bought a package of wipes and a large package of diapers to leave at daycare. Just one less thing you have to worry about each morning and then they will tell you when you need to buy more. For the bottles, I found a cooler bag just for bottles at babies r us for about 12$. It is fully lined on the inside and is water proof so it protects against spillage. I pack the bottles in it and put it in the diaper bag. Although Emma drinks liquid formula, I bought a pack of the powder and keep it at day care just incase they run out of bottles one day, even though I pack 2 extra bottles (I know she will only drink 2 and I pack 4). I also found that making the bottles the night before made the morning routine much less stressfull for me. Make sure you also pack an extra set of clothes including onsies and socks (I learned from a mistake that I made when she had a mess and I didn't have a onesie in the bag). Also pack lots of bibs so they can change them as they get wet throughout the day. Good luck with this new step you have to take. When is the big day?

Melissa- I would bring in the diapers and wiped labeled. Do you need to bring crib sheets? Some places require that, others provide them. Always pack an extra bottle.

I would also do this during this week and stay in the center for a while with the baby. You can see how his day will progress and feel much better about leaving him there on Monday. Plus you will already be rushing around, so this will be one less thing to do.
Starting on thursday I would get up at the work time and see how the routine will work too.

I am curious- in NY a women with a c/s gets 8 weeks off, not 6. Did you get 8?

I know when my niece was an infant and in daycare, the center gave her mom a list of what she needed. Her mom (the babies mom and my brother never married and are not together anymore) had a separate diaper bag, everything was labeled with her name (bottles, crib sheets, wipes, spoons, dishes). In the diaper bag was extra clothes. My niece also needed her binky attached to her clothes (it was clipped on to her bib or clothes and that was also labeled too)

Re: Day Care Supplies

when I enrolled Julianne at 5-1/2 months, I was given a list of what I needed to bring...

here is what we do:
with all the gifts we recieved...we also recieved 2 xtra diaper bags. I returned one and kept one for daycare alone.
MAKES IT ALOT EASIER.

Cooler for bottles- you dont need to get a special baby model for this purpose. Just get the type you can pack your own lunch in..as long as it is insulated it is fine. Daycare usually has a fridge for the bottles and the opened food. just put your LAST name on the bottles with a Sharpie pen.

Clothes, bibs- We were told to provide Daycare with a plastic shoe box type of container. We put her name on it..2 or 3 changes of clothes including onsies..and 2-3 bibs.

one package of diapers and one of wipes- stayed at the center. Again, labeled w/ name.

food- once baby is on jarred food..we sent that in from time to time as advised by the care givers, again labeled.

much better to prepare your bag the night b4..just leave the bottles in the cooler bag in the fridge. in the morning just grab it, put in diaper bag and go.

let me know if you have any ?S
