Day of advice - getting ready with steps

So we are both getting ready at the Viana, and my FH obviously wants his dad there but the issue is what to do with his dads wife. As of now, they aren't booking a hotel room so she can't just hang out in the room and she doesn't drive so she can't meet at the venue either. MY FH does not want her in his room while he gets ready and to be honest I dont want her in my room either. Traditionally the MOG would not get ready with the bride and this is not his mother its his dad's wife and to be honest I really dont care for her either so I am not willing to make an exception. Is it rude for us to tell his dad that she can't be at the hotel if they dont have a room otherwise shell have to sit in the lobby all day and wait for the shuttle or make other arrangements. The rule is parents only. But, they are the type to get offended easily. (At his brothers wedding 5 years ago they were together for only months and he was already asking his brother to include her in family pictures!!)

This is your FH problem. He needs to address this problem with his dad. The options are: his dad gets ready with him and also get his wife a room OR his dad will not get ready with him and meet him at the venue.
As for her being included in your room: NO!

lol always easier said than done with step parents.

I would maybe have FH say something like 'so where is Jane gonna get ready while you are with me' and not even mention you. If FFIL says he thought she would be with you have FH 'blame' it on you and say 'Well she has really been looking forward to getting ready with her mom adn bridal party & I'm not sure she is going to feel comfortable with Jane there since there aren't that close'

Maybe there is a relative's house she can hang out at and then travel with them to the ceremony?

Day of advice - getting ready with steps

Thanks everyone! He is going to talk to his dad. I really dont want her with me, she is such a negative person as it is and that is part of the reason it is so complicated. We are going to tell them parents only and that's it. I struggled with getting her a corsage and having her introduced and walk down the aisle because it was the 'nice' thing to do, but the more I think about it I do not think she should be giving this honor, it is not a step that helped raised him, it is an older women whom his dad just decided to marry two years ago. She hasnt offered any assistance during the planning process and has not taken an active role in either of our lives. As I get closer to wedding I get more and more tired of doing the 'nice' thing, I just want to do what is right for us. Sorry if that comes off bridezilla-ish lol!
