I'm debating if I should make room for one in my budget. The last wedding I was in, the bride had one and she didn't seem like she did much (except be kind of nasty and bossy to us) but to not have to worry about all the little things on the day of would be great. What do you guys think?

Re: Day Of Coordinator
I've been a MOH once & a BM Twice, all had a DOC. Three different companies....all three were useless. They did absolutly nothing. What a waste of money. The photographer & mater'd were more in tune to what was going on & what was going to happen next. Save your money.

Re: Day Of Coordinator
DEFINATELY!!!
I used Francesca of Dazzling Affairs- she was incredible!
Check out my review for details- she was the BEST choice that we made!
I didn't have a DOC, nor did I have a bridal party. I didn't miss it.

Re: Day Of Coordinator
I think it all depends on the person you choose. you should interview them first and get a list of what they do and then compare that to a list of what you want them to do. If the 2 dont match up then ask them if they can do the few things that you need.
I just hired one yesterday and it was the best money spent. She charged $450 for the full day including a full rehersal. Cynthia ross affairs, inc.... She came to me and provided me with a list of what she does. There were a few things that were not on her list but that were important to me and she added them at no charge. I would say dont count it out just yet.

I guess I'll have to do some research and see how I feel. Do they normally charge just for a meeting?

Re: Day Of Coordinator
I booked with Vanessa @ By Your Side Events and our original meeting was free. She's also available by phone/email from the date you book her until the day of your wedding. For me I find her to be invaluable. Because of her I will be able to somewhat relax the week before and day of my wedding instead of stressing about a million different things. FM me if you want more info

After seeing how hectic my shower was where half my bp did absolutely nothing... and my mom and i were the ones running around trying to get things more organzied... while having 40 people pull us in every which direction, yes.. we are totally glad we'll be having a DOC on the day of... For me, its totally necessary... I get pissed off very easily and if I have to be the one to handle everything, I'd scream... Got a glimpse of that at my shower and I want no part of all that craziness...
On that note, its a personal decision... only you can be the one to say if you truely think you need one...

I swear, I'm the same way. I don't have patience for anything lol So I'm thinking this might be the best way for me to go
I agree with Mazz....mine was awesome because all I had to do was enjoy my day...same said for my family and bridal party. She ran errands, moved flowers, coordinated with the photogs..I didnt want to have to do that stuff and I didnt want my fam/friends to either... Having a large bp..she was such a huge help...got people for pictures..kept track of everything and everyone....All we had to do is show up!

I was thinking the same but I'm still going to look around. Found some great suggestions from girls on here for like 450

Thats exactly how i want to be... I didnt get 2 secs to relax at my shower bc people dont know wth they are doing... The day was a complete blur and i'll be damned if my wedding turns out the same way... I had an internalized bridezilla moment and trying to keep it all in actually made me explode later on

Re: Day Of Coordinator
I'd rec my DOC... Laura from LA Productions... shes phenominal, but pricey
ETA: but she brings along an assistant.... so we're essentially paying for 2 doc's

I go back and forth with this too. Talked to FH about it and he said, 'Well, let me think about it.' He thinks that the BP should be responsible for some of these things. And I kind of agree with him, but still feel that a DOC would probably make the day easier.

My coordinator does all of this and more. There was no way i would be able to do all of this and still enjoy my wedding
