Day Of Coordinator

Original post by laulac98

I'm debating if I should make room for one in my budget. The last wedding I was in, the bride had one and she didn't seem like she did much (except be kind of nasty and bossy to us) but to not have to worry about all the little things on the day of would be great. What do you guys think?

I was thinking the same but I'm still going to look around. Found some great suggestions from girls on here for like 450

thats how much mine cost. I sacrificed my antique rolls car just to hire one. I'm totally ok with that. I have no problem getting in the limo truck with my BP

handing out programs, bubbles, making sure hall was set up properly, bringing corsages/bots to all bridal party...driving to different locations to help with me and dh...collecting all items at the end of ceremony/reception...all these things and more...totally worth it!

I agree with Mazz....mine was awesome because all I had to do was enjoy my day...same said for my family and bridal party. She ran errands, moved flowers, coordinated with the photogs..I didnt want to have to do that stuff and I didnt want my fam/friends to either... Having a large bp..she was such a huge help...got people for pictures..kept track of everything and everyone....All we had to do is show up!

My coordinator does all of this and more. There was no way i would be able to do all of this and still enjoy my wedding

I agree. She seems to really know her stuff. Plus, when you book with Cynthia you have unlimted telephone and email access as well as two in person meetings. def check her out.

if you can find one in your price range then i say go for it...as for me...it won't be in my budget but both of my moh's are my sisters and they are both married and planned their weddings on their own. I will use their free services teehheee i love being the youngest child

At first I didnt think I needed one... but I want to be able to enjoy my day...and be as stress free as possible. I wanted somone there to make sure that things stay on time and people are in order- so for us it was a yes! It really does depend on your situation.

After seeing how hectic my shower was where half my bp did absolutely nothing... and my mom and i were the ones running around trying to get things more organzied... while having 40 people pull us in every which direction, yes.. we are totally glad we'll be having a DOC on the day of... For me, its totally necessary... I get pissed off very easily and if I have to be the one to handle everything, I'd scream... Got a glimpse of that at my shower and I want no part of all that craziness...

On that note, its a personal decision... only you can be the one to say if you truely think you need one...

Are you me?? Seriously!
I'm a loose cannon, and I konw if on my wedding day, I have to deal with people's BS, I will NOT be a happy camper.

I swear, I'm the same way. I don't have patience for anything lol So I'm thinking this might be the best way for me to go

I booked with Lisa with Elite Affairs, she had some great idesa and she is such a nice person, I've seen nothing but GREAT reviews about her

I think it's definitely a good idea to have one. you never know what kind of last minute problems will arise and having a DOC around will keep me more sane.

DEFINATELY!!!

I used Francesca of Dazzling Affairs- she was incredible!

Check out my review for details- she was the BEST choice that we made!

I agree, I used her, and she did everything

I guess I'll have to do some research and see how I feel. Do they normally charge just for a meeting?

There shouldnt be a charge. for a DOC there are usually 2 meetings...the initial meeting then another meeting the week of the wedding

I don't think they are worth it (sorry girls) if you have at least 2 really good friends/ family members who can help you it's not worth it. I used to work in catering for 5 years and anyone who had DOC, the BP never listen to they end up only listing to the Bride.
Break everthing down have one in charge of watching the photo/viedo guys, one make sure the limos on time etc...

I dont think its really fair to expect your closer fam/friends of all people to try to help you out with everything... Im sure they want to relax and just have a good time also... but thats just the way i personally feel..

I'd rec my DOC... Laura from LA Productions... shes phenominal, but pricey

ETA: but she brings along an assistant.... so we're essentially paying for 2 doc's

I booked with Laura also and cannot be happier!! She is one of my top 2 favorite vendors that i have booked for my wedding!!

I also have a very short temper, as does FH, so if something goes wrong on our wedding day one of us would more than likely end up in handcuffs...We thought having a DOC to be there and be our buffer would be an awesome idea to save ourselves the stress of making sure all the small stuff is done and stop us from freaking out completely the day of our wedding

I dont have a large friends circle and the few i do have are in the wedding. i want someone who is professional and knows what she is doing to help. I want my friends and family to enjoy themselves. I dont want them to run around and do errands at the last minute. I think its money well spent

See that's part of my feelings as well. I want my mom and my sister (who's my MOH) to be able to have a good time and not worry about the flowers or the dj or paying everyone. I talked to FH last night and he thinks it's a great idea so everyone involved can relax and enjoy the day. Once i book my hall I think that's going to be the next thing I look into. I don't know who to choose now, I got so many suggestions lol
