Day of Coordinator and Bridal Attendant

Day of Coordinator and Bridal Attendant

Those of you that have bridal attendants at your hall did you hire a DOC as well? Do you need a DOC if you have a Bridal Attendant? Those of you who had a DOC did you feel it was worth it?

Everyone's situation is different but I'm doing photos before my ceremony and having my ceremony at church which is before I even step foot near my RH. So that's about 6 hours of my wedding day that's uncoordinated. Personally, I don't want my parents or siblings to have to worry if the photog took all the shots he was supposed to do or what to do if the florist doesn't show up.

I met with Francesca @ dazzling affairs last night and while I'm sure she is the best of the best, she's $950. I've heard of many others in the $500-750 range so IMO for my situation alone I think it is absolutely necessary

Re: Day of Coordinator and Bridal Attendant

years ago when I was engaged to someone else (didn't get married lol) anyway I was going to use Laura from La productions. she was great! well when I had met her because obviously I didn't get to use her

I'm really hoping to get a doc no matter what. no one in my close family(those who will be around and planning wise) has had a wedding like this pretty much since my parents were married like 27 years ago. so I assume no one really knows what to do and we need one lol.

it'll make me feel 100% better to know someone is in charge and helping everyone along. the only thing stopping me when the time comes might be the $$$. otherwise I really want one. they pretty much make sure there are no problems whatsoever. they also think of everything. from checking your flowers, to making sure everyone shows up on time like djs, etc. just everything. that's exactly what I want on my wedding day. I don't think I ever heard anyone say a doc was a waste of money either.

that's exactly why I want one! my friends/family wouldn't even know what to do if flowers didn't show up or have any idea what kind of shots we are supposed to take. they just make sure your day is perfect for you. I don't want any of my girls crying telling me they don't know what to do which would stress me out and I want a perfect day not crying or omg the flowers aren't here yet!

My BA did absolutely nothing for me... she only fixed my bustle once!!!

My DOC, if i had one... would have been there with me through out the entire day not just the reception...

If you have a friend or acquaintance that you would like at the wedding but cannot necessarily invite them without opening the door to ALL the other people in your life... think of that person who's organized and/or LOVES weddings.

I am thinking of doing a DOC or enlisting different friends / BM for different roles.. like a former co-worker, she used to work at the Knot so she knows all about weddings.

I am a planner myself so I think I can organize lists and discuss roles with my guests before hand. I don't think it's impossible, just have to be organized, very organized.

Ultimately it is the $$ for us, we are having a small wedding of hopefully 65 guests..

I have worked in the industry for many years. The BA usually serves you food and drinks at your venue. The maitre'd and assistant maitre'd will take care of timing, your dress, work with your vendors, etc. I feel a DOC is unnecessary if you have a good catering hall and maitre'd. A DOC is helpful if ou are having a ceremony at an outdoor location, which requires addition coordination.

I booked a DOC- shes an LIW vendor. Paid $ 350 for all day coverage. I just don't want to stress about things the day of.

My bridal attendants at JT were amazing! They did so much for me. however, I'm still SO glad I had a DOC, especially for before the ceremony and during the church.

I highly reccomend Francesca from Dazzling Affairs- she went above and beyond anything I expected a DOC to do. She's amazing, professional, and a true 'miracle worker'. She literally was in 3 places at once! She's great!

i would still do a DOC-i don't want anyone calling me the morning of over flowers; centerpieces; people missing. I will willingly pay someone else to deal with all of this!

BA doesn't really do teh same sort of thing that I would expect a DOC to do. I think the DOC is more like the maitre'd! But we didn't have a DOC and everything ran very smoothly! Just my two cents!

I felt it necessary to have a DOC Although i am getting married at the RH I felt i needed someone to handle things prior to getting to the RH. My DOC starts the week of the wedding. She confirms all contracts and organizes all arrival times. she also coordinates the rehersal the day before and will be there from the minute we start getting ready at the hotel ( the bridal attendant wont be there). She will also make sure we stay in time with hair, make up and limo so we get to the picture location in time and have enough time to get ALL of our pictures in before the ceremony.

I feel this is without a doubt something every bride should have. We have spent so much time planning and have put so much money in to this i dont think we should have to worry about anything muchless impose on one of our family members to keep track of everything. For me this wasnt a matter of if we had the money. I just added it into the budget as a vendor.
