I really honestly feel I needed one and thank God I had one...from gettin gready until the reception I would not have stayed sane if it wasnt for the DOC.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
Didn't need one nor did I have one! I was a very organized bride & wanted to be hands on with EVERYTHING. The day of the wedding I was just as at collected as I was when planning

Didn't have one, but wished I had.
However, after reading of some brides' disappointments with their DOCs, maybe it wouldn't have been the day-saver I'm imagining it to be.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I will be honest with you... i did not have one for budget reasons... i felt that after the fee and then paying for their plate, it would be too much. I also felt that my catering hall provided an attendent and that would be enough....
However...given the chance to do it over again, I would have had one. My moh (sis) was 5 mos prego at my wedding and had to attend to my 2 yr niece fg.. I did have support from her and others..but i kind of wish i had someone who was accessible to just me all day..and looked out for my interest/vision... i picked up on a couple of mistakes at my catering hall and wished someone was on the look out to keep all in order..

My bridal attendant and Matre'd were AMAZING. I mean out of this world. I do events so I didn't feel like handing over the logisitics to someone else. I feel if you are working with a good staff, it may not be necessary, however I do feel brides should speak to someone in the industry during the planning process.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I had 2 bridal attendants and a maitre d at my wedding. They took care of anything I could have wanted!
I was a very organized bride (actually my vendors called me the most organized bride they had ever seen) So I definitely did not need a DOC. The only thing I would do differently is to have SOMEONE touch up my makeup after dancing all night and before pictures. LOL

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
Waste. Mine went MIA a week before my wedding. I was livid, but at the end of the day, i didn't need her at all. Glad I only lost my deposit...the money was needed elsewhere.

I had Laura from LA Productions & she is worth every penny! Even though, I didn't have any disasters - she just did all those 'little' things that you don't realize need to be done. I didn't have to worry or stress about a thing. I had her from noon until after our first dance. She took care of all the behind the scene things!

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I had Leslie from Travel Solutions around me all morning. She and her assistant set up the Church, they gave the GM their directions and wedding programs to distribute. She helped me at the Apt getting ready, and then her job was done as soon as she tucked me into the limo to head to the RH. So, for the morning, I was beyond thankful that she was there. I could concentrate on me, and she helped me BM get ready.
My Matre-D and Bridal Attendant at the RH worked like charms for me, so I saw no need for a DOC there.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I had Francesca from Dazzling Affairs and she was hands down the best investment in my wedding. From setting up the rental chairs (and breaking them down) at the ceremony, to coordinating the processional, to driving us from the reception to the hotel - her assistance was valuable and could not have been replaced by anyone else.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
Loved mine!
There were a few things that happened that I found out AFTER the wedding that she took care of.
She was the best and a huge help during our entire day!!! We had a very long day (pictures before a 2 different locations, one location needed a contract, etc...) and she organized everything from getting the girls to the salon on time to getting us in the limos to get to our pic locations on time. Everything went so smoothly and I know it was because of my DOC.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I had Rosalie and she was such a HUGE help. The day off was crazy because everyone was all over the place, but she was quick to reign everyone in. Everyone in the bridal party said she was amazing. I feel like she got rid of any stress I might have had that day, especially because our bridal party was large and we went to three locations (had to get certain folks in certain limos, etc.)

Felt the same exact way and used her too!

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
I will say that mine really helped me to orchestrate the day, but the PROCESS of getting to that point was painful...she was not very organized and I kept having to harp on her to get things done on her end. So, it was more stressful than it needed to be, but in the end it was helpful to have one on the actual day.

I didn't have one. I did think about getting one but just never did. I think it would of been nice but not necessary. I think I did an excellent job myself.

Re: DAY-OF coordinator question
Michelle Nocella was fabulous as was her assistant. We loved her as did all our of family members.
There were a few major things that she took care of for us (lost minister, dove release vendor issue and setting up my DIY's) plus just organizing the day including driving vendors to the site, going down to get DH & I checked into our honeymoon suite before we left for the ceremony, keeping everyone on time, etc.
Michelle was one of the best investments we made for the wedding.
