Day Of Coordinator Required?

Day Of Coordinator Required?

Hi Everyone! We are having our wedding at the Inn at New Hyde Park. We're having both our ceremony and reception there. Do you think a Day of Coordinator is required? Thanks!

A DOC is never required. However, when I started actually pricing them out, I was so surprised at how low their fees tend to be, I decided, why not have one! Someone I can whisper too 'Get my mother off my back' and they have to put up with her, well worth the $300-$500!

agreed. but my mom loved having one at my sister's wedding so much that she decided it was her treat. as MOH in that wedding, even i really appreciated the DOC. she helped me with some dress mishaps and handled the issue of the photographer only sending one person when there were supposed to be 2. she was AWESOME.

thanks everyone! i am trying to figure out if it would be beneficial considering we are having the ceremony and reception in the same location. we have a maitre d and bridal attendant, but not sure if that would cover everything.

I have the same situation - ceremony and reception at the same place, and keep going back and forth about having a DOC. I think I'm going to put that on my list of things to look into next. I think for the price, it would be worth it.

It is definitely not required, but I think it is going to be sooo helpful! I am glad that I decided to get one. If you are interested, you should definitely look into A Modern Day Affair - they are great!!!!!

I'm having my ceremony & reception at the same place and I hired a DOC. It already seems that so much is going on that day that I already feel at ease knowing they will both be there.

I'm getting married at Fox Hollow and I'll have a bridal attendant and a maitre'd, but I'm meeting with a DOC tomorrow evening because the pricing seems really good and I might need someone there just to deal with everyone's questions. I am not the type of person who would enjoy being asked 'are the flowers SUPPOSED to look like that?' 'Wasn't the photographer supposed to be here at x time?' Etc....

Back home DOC are not heard of. We actually have a family member/friend that we 'assign' as our personal attendent, and they kind of do the work as a DOC......

They for the wedding out here, we are having the same personal attendent, and we are also asking a close family friend to handle my cell phone the day of, so if any of the vendors need to contact us, and also she is going to take care of making sure all the vendors get thier tips at the end of the night. She was so honored that we asked her to do this, so its a way that she can take place in the wedding and also save us the money that we would be spending on a DOC.....

Initially we were not going to have one, but once I saw the prices- we thought it would take a lot of stress off us

similar situation...but at the Swan club. I wanted the ease of being able to enjoy the night and my mom...and not be worried about getting bombarded with questions. They seem to make everything run super smooth. and not as expensive as I thought so even FH thought it was worth it once we met with them.

As you continue with your planning you can see how you are with things, are you worried, a control freak, picky & particular... Then you can meet with one and see if it's worth the cost.

And, you're new to the site, WELCOME!
