'DAY OF' final payments

'DAY OF' final payments

Are you/ did you make these the day of or a few days before? I don't really want to have to think about (or make anyone else) think about carrying all the $$ and making payments. I know we also must carry $$ for tips that day.

Did anyone do it BEFORE the big day to get it out of the way????

I know people who did it days or a week before. They will be happy to take your money beforehand! I am not at that point yet - I try not to think about it either.

I figured they will take it (not going to refuse $$ ) but is it a good idea.

all our vendors and the reception hall were paid for in full before the big day except our limos. I paid him when he got to the house. The only thing my dad had to hold (as far as $$) was the tips. I gave him the envelopes and asked him to give it to the guys. it worked out well, and every single one of them came up to Harry and I and thanked us.

we plan on paying everybody a few days before - it's one less thing to think of. a few vendors indicated they would take CC's or checks instead of cash if we paid a few days before. i believe the day of most vendors only take cash or a money order

Betty, we decided not to do that. I know of a bride, whose band stopped playing during the reception and there was no music until the bride's mother threatened not to pay the band its final payment (which happened to be full payment minus the $500 deposit). Because I would like to have some 'weapon' for my day, just in case any of my vendors decide to play hokey

Day of....we paid the limos & band and tipped the other vendors.

Most of my vendors require that I pay of the full balances due two weeks before, which is good because I'll get it out of the way.

The only money I plan on carrying that day are tips for all the vendors.

The only vendors that need to be paid beforehand are the following: Hall 30 days before the wedding.. video, 1400 30 days before.. video, night of RD (I'm having a videographer for both the RD night and cocktail party afterwards and for the wedding itself)

nope....other than that, I'm paying everyone else the night of... the hall has a safe that they are allowing us to use..
