I've never been the french manicure type, and I've always loved bright or dark colors for my nails, and actually have Vamp by Chanel in my possession, which matches my color scheme...
Do you think it might be 'too much' in photos on my fingers and toes? I'm not as concerned with the toes since my feet won't be seen as much. I plan on doing my nails myself the night before.

If it matches your color scheme why not?
But maybe have someone else put it on you so you don't end up with little red outlines of your nails or anything. With dark colors, it's so easy for them to look gloppy or messy!

Re: Day of Nail Polish Opinion
Go for it! I am planning on doing my nails in a deep red color too (we have the same color scheme). I think just as long as the nails are kept on the shorter side it'll look good. I am actually going to my first fitting on Saturday and I am going to do my nails in the color I want to get a visual. (And to prove to my mom that I won't look like a 'hoochie mama')

I am going with red nails for my wedding day too. The bridesmaids will be in a bordeaux color and I will do my nails to match. I have never been a big fan of French myself...

Re: Day of Nail Polish Opinion
Beware of color on your nails! I was told that when I go for my fittings, to not have color on my nails, or wear gloves.
The color gets on the dress! Especially if it's on the tips as well.
I think I'm just doing a neutral color on my fingers and color on my toes.

i say go for it. if it matches your color scheme, i think that is awesome. if it had no relation to anything i would say really think about. i think it will look great in your case. i did a french on my hands with ballet slipper i think, but was going to get this really dark plum/purple on my toes. my mom & moh had a fit and wouldn't let me do it lol. i ended up getting a shade of pink. not that it mattered as it was january and even though i had open toe shoes no one saw my toes, i had stockings on. if i could go back i would have pulled the bride card and done the purple.

Re: Day of Nail Polish Opinion
Ali what are you colors?
Hands tend to pull your focus in photos if you spread your fingers, so you should always take photos with your fingers together (if you can help it). If they're that dark it may pull the eye even more...but for example if your bo-k is red and if your BMs are in dark colors it won't matter so much.

It's going to look awesome since that is one of your colors and it's a nice rich color for a December wedding.

My colors are burgundy and ivory with gold accents...my dress is ivory and my bouquet is majority burgundy roses with a few ivory mixed in, and my girls dresses are burgundy and they are having ivory rose bouquets with a few burgundy mixed in, so the opposite of mine. There's going to be so much darkness going on that I really don't think my nails are going to be the focal point.
My mom did flip a bit at the idea, until I wielded the brush on her and sneak attacked her nail and she saw it wasn't as dark as it looks in the bottle LOL.

Vamp sounds good but dont do it yourself take the color to a manicurist.
