Day of Schedule HELP!!!

HELP LADIES!!!

We are trying to get our day of schedule in place. Our reception is from 7pm-Midnight.....(7 Cocktail hour)

As of right now our ceremony is scheduled for 5pm, it will be a short 20-30 min ceremony. We don't want to miss all of our cocktail hour.....we are willing to miss 15-20 minutes.

We are thinking of taking pictures before hand in the church at at FH firehouse. We are doing a receveing line, do you think we will have enough time to take pictures at our RH and enjoy our cocktail hour or are we pushing it to close.......we have a few other options as well

1) we can have the ceremony at 2:30, and cocktail hour start at 7, but I don't want there to be too much down time for OOT guests and I am scared people will then have a little something to eat, and if I am pay $$$$ for the food, they better come hungary!!!

2) We can push the cocktail hour back to 7:30 and have the ceremony still at 5, but is a 7:30 cocktail hour too late???

Has anyone ever had or been to a wedding where they only have a half an hour cocktail party?? Or is this something that can't be done......

ALL opinions/Suggestions and advice Needed!!!

TIA

Have you thought of maybe taking picture before the ceremony? If not with you and FH, but of the Bridal Party and family. This might help you with timing. I think that you should have enough time with a 5pm ceremony. Have you picked your photographer yet? This is something I am sure you can explain to them and they can help you sort out time for pictures so you don't get to miss anything important! I have never heard of a half hour cocktail, but I am sure it can't help to ask your venue.

I was thinking of taking pictures before hand, with both FH and I. We will have already been married for a month(since our first wedding is in April, in Minnesota). So that is what I was thinking, but I just wanted to get advice from the 'professionals'(LIW)

Kelley,

Our ceremony is at 4 and Im so paranoid we wont have enough time. But your church is alot closer to SW. Id suggest take the firehouse pics before hand. You could still make it to SC a lil after 6 and get in a good amount of pics. I wont get there til close to 530 and sunset is at 550 so im not happy about that since I planned it around then but we will make it work. Atleast you will have daylight =) It will work out!

i would def take pics before the ceremony - this way your guests have a great timeline (they dont have 3 hours to kill in between the ceremony and reception) and you can go to your cocktail hour.
