is anyone not going all out on shoes for the wedding??

i'm tall 5'8''ish-5'9'', i hate wearing heels, i can barely walk in heels, my dress is poofy and you cant even see my feet...therefore, im thinking about just getting cute, white, ballet flats.

I really love shoes, so I will probably get cute ones. Plus, I think I'm going to get a tea length dress, so the shoes are kind of important.

But, I think there's nothing wrong with doing ballet slippers--I love them, and think they are really comfy and a little bit classier than flip flops

im getting a cute pair of heels for the ceremony bc for the CH when we are taking pics we might do a couple poses where you can see my shoes but for the reception i am getting flats

Honestly I am 5'5 and FH is 6'5...I figured if I wore 3' heels, not only would I be supremely uncomfortable, but FH would still be 9' taller than me and probably 10' because he'll have shoes on too. So, really...what's two inches?? I'd rather be comfortable and have to get up on my tip toes and have him bend a lil to kiss me than be up in heels and grimacing on my wedding day because my feet hurt.

Just some food for thought.

same here I love shoes (but they need to be comfy) plus for pics I am 5'0' and fh is 6'0' foot so I need to bump myself up. but i do want to put flats on sometime during the night so me tailor should officially hate me lol

I'm 5'3 and FH is 6'2 but I got my shoes from zappos.com. He always complains that I don't wear heels enough so, I decided to give him a little treat for the wedding a got a heel that's a whooping 2 1'2 inches lol. I plan to have some wedge flip flops on hand but if I can stay in the heels all night then I will.

I bought a pait of silver naturalizers with a 2 in heel and I plan on switching to 1 in flip flops or sandals after the frist dance

If I was your height I would totallyyyyy go for flats. I'm only 5'0', so I think I would look way too tiny, so I need some height, but if I didn't need the height, I'd pick being comfortable over everything else! I say go for it! How tall is FH is that a factor in your decision?

I am also the same height, close to 5'9 and FH is about the same…so I know I don’t want a high heel (which I never wear anyways due to my height) and tower over him, but I know I would like some sort of heel.

The shoes I seem to like all have a 3 inch heel, so I am starting to shop around and plan to check out some shoe stores tomorrow. From reading these posts, that sounds like a good idea to also get flats too - not sure how well I will be able to dance in heels.

FH is about an inch taller than me and he refuses I wear shoes, he wants me to wear ballet slippers and I am totally fine with that!!!!

This is my biggest problem...FH is only 2-3 inches taller than me. I don't want to be taller than him...especially in pictures. So...he's coming shoe shopping with me! I'm getting married in December, so I want something that is closed. I want a small heel and something very comfortable!

hard to say ... dont wanna spend much on shoes but things change once you start looking around.

Forgot to post a pic!! Here are my Stuart Weitzmans... They are white satin.

ETA: They are simple, classy and elegant... Couldn't get anything crazy looking bc of all the embroidery and beading on my dress.
