Day of the wedding - Cash tips

What's everyone planning on or hearing is standard for cash tips the day of the wedding? So far what I've heard is I should tip the following people, but not sure how much...

Photographer
DJ & MC
Matre'd
Bridal Attendant
Officiant (we are not getting married in a church, officiant coming to venue)

Day of the wedding - Cash tips

I'm the main bread winner, so I covered all the tips.. FH helps out when he can, but it's been pretty much just me and my dad and a generous check from FH's mother.. It's much scarier when you come home with a ton of 100 dollar bills and have to pretty much give it all away in one night lol

Re: Day of the wedding - Cash tips

When we were visiting the Fox Hollow, they told us $1200 for the Maitre D (which covers all gratuities for the staff) and $125 for the Bridal Attendant.

I had to pick my jaw up off the floor at work, the next day, when my colleague told me that we had to tip everyone else.

We booked a band. Do we have to tip the band too?

Thanks!

$1200?!?! That's like my while tips budget! I was told $3-5pp. So I figured around $700 if I go with $3ish for 175 people. And yes, you should tip each band member.

Well, we're having about 300 people, so $1200 is $4 per person.

Anyone have an idea on what is an appropriate tip for the band members?

Day of the wedding - Cash tips

I told my FH about the tips a few weeks ago, he flipped, then got over it and realized we'll have to tip obviously but we will tip what we can and with respect to services! I think its kind of crazy that there's a range for 'tipping,' you should tip based on service not based on 'standard practice.'

I agree. We will tip what we can and based on service. A $1200 tip to me is insane. I don't feel tips should be expected or mandatory
