My ceremony at the church is at 11:30 (not a full mass) and reception at 1:30. Everything is about 10 minutes from each other, including the hotel. Transportation is being provided from the hotel to the reception and back. My mom thinks we should shuttle people to the church as well, but I think that is too much. I think people can drive to the church, then if they want, drive back to the hotel and wait for the shuttle to transport them to the reception so they can drink. What do you ladies think? Do people usually also provide transportation to and from the church? TIA!

Re: Day of transportation for guests
I think you don't need to provide transportation to the church, I think the whole thing about shuttles back and forth to the reception is just to prevent drinking and driving which could be disastrous on any day not to mention your wedding day! IMO church shuttle is just not necessary.

I agree with you... Let them drive to the church then back to the hotel...

We're not shuttling people to the church, just the hotel to reception and back.

I agree, we are providing shuttle from the hotel to the RH and back, so that people can drink. They should be able to drive to the Church ceremony, then check into the hotel and take the shuttle.

You definitely do not need to provide transportation to the church - no one will be drinking at the church, it is early and like you said not far away. No need to spend the extra money.

I'm in the same position! we have a lot of my family from out of town. my mom didn't want them to have the extra expense of renting a car - and really for that matter neither did I. I think you'll find that adding a shuttle to and from the ceremony won't add up to to much - check and see what the cost would be. i got our limo co. to include it for us. it is a very very very very nice convenience - but NO I don't think anyone expects a shuttle to and or from anywhere...but they are very grateful for it! and yes then you don't have to worry about D&D after the reception
