Day or Evening Wedding?

Day or Evening Wedding?

I've always wanted an evening wedding, but it seems like b/c of certain circumstances I may have to have a 12-5pm wedding. Are you having a day or evening wedding and why!?
I've never been to a day wedding so I don't know but do people dance?!

I just had a Friday night- evening wedding. It was a blast.....I feel evening weddings are just more of a party. That's my opinion, others may feel different and that's great. As a guest, I would MUCH prefer an evening wedding. That's just me and my circle.

What is the average age of your guests? That would be helpful in making your decision.

I'm having an afternoon wedding. I use to work at Venetian and they had tons of afternoon weddings and they were all beautiful. People do dance. Evening weddings are definitely more party friendly. I choose an afternoon wedding mainly because of the price difference. I want to spend the extra money on other things like my dress etc.

i am having an evening wedding. for me i think the time of day you choose for your wedding depends on the type of feel/atmosphere you are going for. i have been to both kinds of weddings and have always felt that an evening wedding had more of a 'wedding vibe' (that's just my opinion). also, besides not being a morning person (not in to really getting up at 6 am or some crazy time to start getting ready) i really wanted to have uplighting at my hall so the evening was sort of necessary. hth!

I'm having a day wedding-and although it seems like its too early to have a party-I like to think that we get even more time to enjoy the wedding. We really wanted to save some extra money by having it in the afternoon.

However, the party can continue afterwards at the hotel or anywhere else into the evening.

I do feel like the evening weddings have a different vibe but only you and FH will know what feels best for you.

I'm having a day wedding and I am worried about the same thing. I always envisioned having a night wedding but the price difference is crazy so to save a little, I'm making the sacrifice to have it early. When it comes down to it, you will have a great time regardless if its day or night. My friend had an afternoon wedding and people still danced and had fun. It definitely sets a different tone when its early but I think being surrounded by your friends and family and FH, it will be a blast. And like the previous poster said- you can have an after-party and have both a day and night celebration.

I love afternoon weddings, its just more my vibe, more casual, and the pictures you can get during the daylight are gorgeous.

We are having an evening, only because FH really insisted. I would have a daytime wedding in a heartbeat though.

Both can be perfect and incredibly fun!

we are doing evening because we know if we had a day one, a lot of our guests would not be able to make it, plus I really wanna see Leonards at night because it is gorgeous all lit up

I prefer night weddings myself. We sacrificed the day of the week since we didn't want to have an afternoon wedding to cut the price. So we're having it on a Thursday instead. But I have been to afternoon weddings & had fun too :)

I always pictured my wedding to be a night wedding, and I came thisclose to booking a day wedding to save a ton of money. In the end, I went with a Friday night wedding, and feel that I made the best decision ever. If you really want a night wedding, you can find a time of year that is off season, or night that is off price(Friday or Thursday even, or Sunday of a holiday) or even a less expensive RH. It all comes down to what is most important for YOUR wedding. If you are going to be just as happy with a day wedding, go for it! If you are night person, or your guests are real party people, you may regret sacrificing on such a big thing. Good luck!

We're having an evening wedding - that's what we always wanted. Day weddings are fine too, it really depends on what you are looking for. The evening always makes it more of a party atmosphere IMO but you can definitely have a blast during the day as long as your friends and family are there to share. Then you can always have an after party into the night.

We're having an afternoon wedding, and while I would have loved to have it at night, the money we saved could go towards something else.

I'm also a little worried that it won't feel like a wedding, but we figure as long as we're dancing and drinking, our guests will too.

We're also thinking about doing an after-party at our hotel for those who don't want the party to end.

I really wanted an evening wedding, but we just could not afford it. So we are having an afternoon wedding instead.

It really depends on your crowd. I'm having an evening wedding, but I went to a Sunday afternoon wedding last year with all my friends, and it was just as wild as a night wedding would have been, and they had a fun after-party casual BBQ that everyone went to afterwards.

Im having an afternoon wedding and having lighting to give the room more of a club feel so that people can feel that it's a night wedding.

We originally had an evening wedding. But since our venue is on the water, we decided to switch it to a day wedding. That way our guests could enjoy the view, and we'd be able to have more pictures on the water.

The best part was getting the same menu as the evening but for less money!!!

We had an evening wedding. I would have had to start getting ready at 6 a.m. if we were doing a day wedding & that wasnt about to happen...lol... I liked being able to take my time for a later wedding & knowing that we would get some amazing pictures while the sun set (although so much rain this year! It was sunny for day time & clouded up during CH - which was ok - it took away some of the glare for the pics) I honestly think b/c we did have a LOT of OOT guests/family - that not sure if they would have come for day wedding b/c they would have had to either come in a day earlier or start driving in the middle of the night. By having a later wedding it worked out perfectly for us & guests alike.

For day weddings, it's usually done as a cocktail/brunch/luncheon theme. It depends on what type of wedding you're planning. If you're looking for an early celebration, a quick get together with family and friends over brunch and cocktail music then this setting would be perfect b/c of the laid-back vibe. If you're looking to go all out then an evening reception would better suit your needs. I held an outdoor garden wedding. The reception was held inside a tent that looked beautiful in the summer evening. I also attended weddings in the evenings. From experience, there's something magical about the night time that an early wedding can't bring out. People are usually pumped at night esp for festivities and dancing. This is not to say that a early wedding wouldn't look beautiful. Either way, it's your big day and you have to do what makes you happy. Personally, I feel an evening wedding has that extra spark..
