Day or overnight trips...

Name places to go/see for a nice day out (or overnight) that a group of three or four couples would enjoy...

(I was thinking Dorney Park, Great Adventure, Hershey Park, A/C, Wildwood...)

Can you help by suggesting some other locations??

Day trips that me and FH are planning include:

Great Adventure (but Kingda Ka is closed now so we might postpone for a bit)

Fire Island

Bronx Zoo

Kayaking (FH just got a kayak, but we used to rent them canoes and make it a whole canoe/picnic day)

We also want to take a day/2 day trip up to Boston to go to the New England Aquarium - we'll see if that happens

IMO if you're going to take the trip to Boston, I'd skip the N E Aquarium.

Have you been to the Aquarium - is it horrid? When I was in college in Maine, my marine bio professor was in love with that Aquarium so I just assumed it was a good one :)

Oh, I don't know. I wouldn't say it's 'horrid'...
But really, I wouldn't say it was all that nice either. I guess it depends on your taste, your past experiences and what you're looking for in an aquarium ---that's based in the middle of a big city!

I can post pictures later and explain more of my experiences there. But there was so much to do in Boston! I definitely would not go back to the aquarium.
