day spas?

i want to surprise my fiance with a whole day at a spa for his birthday- he deserves a day of relaxation. does anyone know of a good and not so expensive day spa in the city?
i was looking at the faina eurpean day spa- and it looked nice. does anyone know anything about it?

Re: day spas?

I would recommend the Mario Badesa spa.

The Spa is located at 320 East 52nd Street, NY
212-758-1065

They have great packages and they do great facials and massages. The prices are unbeatable for a Spa in NYC.

Just a FYI, when I first went there I was a little surprise by the 'atmosphere'. It's in an apartment building. It wasn't a chic as I was used to (i.e. comfy couches, etc). But believe me once you are inside your massage/facial rooms that melts away. Speak with Mai-Ling.

I second the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa/Salon. I go to the one in Westchester and I absolutely love it!

Re: day spas?

thanks for the replies girls! i looked all of them up and they were all a lot more expensive than faina european day spa. i called them yesturday to make the appiontment and they were really snooty and abnoxious. i was wondering if anyone ever heard of them or went there?

Try Bliss in NYC. I didn't have anything done but the girls that got the brazilian wax went there and when I was there tagging along, the place is very nice. So relaxing... And I was just sitting and waiting for them! FH and I are thinking about going there to get massages.
