day time weddings..
Just curious if any of you are having day time weddings? What are you doing afterwards? I have always been anti daytime wedding for the simple fact I want to party all night for my wedding, FH thinks its a great idea and wants to do then have an awesome after party. Does anyone have ideas on what to do after the wedding is over in the Ronkonkoma area??

Honestly, the whole reason I didn't want a day wedding is because then my guests would expect an after party and by the time I paid for that I may as well have got married at night. Needless to say we chose a Friday night.

yeah, I wanted to do a Friday night, but FH has very little to say about anything with the wedding so when he speaks he gets his way :)

We are having a day wedding! Our cocktail is 1 and our reception is 2-6! We have a lot of OOT guests so I wouldn't be surprised if the party continues in people's rooms and/or the bar downstairs in the lobby :)

my friends had a day time wedding at Lombardi's on the Sound this past september. They didn't organize anything afterward (or at least not for friends) and we just went home.And... I lived in Ronkonkoma... theres really nothing to do there LOL Maybe you could do a bar in Smithtown?
Thats what my other friend did when she got married. Her reception ended at 6 or 7 and then everyone went home or back to their hotels and changed and we met up at a local dive bar around 930-10ish.

I'm having a daytime wedding!! We live in Queens, and our RH is almost out in Riverhead. We are definitely going to be staying at a hotel that night, and are sure most of our friends will too, so we were thinking about asking about renting a conference room or something and just renting some kegs or something (we're really classy like that). We had even considered finding out how much it would be per person to go to Splish Splash after the wedding (they usually closer at 6pm, so we'd ask them to stay open for us an hour or two afterward). We don't know how much we'll have in the budget, but we're lucky enough to have friends who will always throw down some cash to have a good time.

Couldn't agree more! Plus I worry a lot about people drinking too much and I can't imagine buying everyone drinks all day and all night long. A lot of people can handle that but I know I can't!

We are having a daytime wedding! :) we saved sooo much money vs a night time wedding. The price doubles or more for a night time wedding. We are going back to the hotel and doing an after party for anyone that wants to go. I have been to day weddings before where we have done that and it is always fun. THe best part about it is that we just attend the hotel bar or a local bar near by and we don't pay for an after party when you are just attending the bar.

I having a day time wedding simply for the fact that I love natural light! I thought about getting a room or hosting an after party but FH was like we have an apartment, the wedding is over by 6, lets just go home! And then I decided that was a great money saver and that we would invite our close family and friends back to our place and just hang out

We're having a day wedding and plan on going to a bar afterwards and having a casual get-together. East Wind has a bar at the inn or we'll go to wherever the room block will be. Our wedding is from 1pm to 6:30pm so it'll be early enough for people to still hangout
