days off from work pre-wedding ...

I know a lot of you are taking the entire week before your wedding off from work ... is that really necessary?

I only have one vacation day to use (HM and FH's family trip are taking up the rest of my vacation time) so if i take any more than one day, it'll have to be un-paid. Is is worth it?

Not sure if it matters but my wedding's on Sunday so i'lll def have Fri & Sat off from work.

I'm actually taking a few days off the week before the week before the wedding. I am working a few days that week. I figured that I would want to finalize all vendor stuff without going crazy...

I am getting married on a sunday but probably taking off wed-fri with a possible half day on Tuesday (we have a lot of OOTers, otherwise, I would prob only take off Thurs and Fri)....

wedding day is Friday. I'm only taking off Wed and Thursday. I want to keep as much vacation time so I have days I can use for Christmas and New Years. (I bought days at my company so total days of vacation is 27 days - I dont get sick or personal time in that).

i'm taking 2 days before the wedding. i'm saving up the rest of my vacation days for the HM!

RD is friday, wedding is Saturday - i'm only taking Thursday and Friday. i think if you just took friday, you'd be in the same situation as me.

but i'm also generally not a last minute person (type A much ) so i really don't anticipate much..of course, there's always the unexpected.

I'm not. My wedding is on a Monday (holiday), so I'll have Saturday and Sunday off. I think 2 days is plenty.

I wouldn't do it if I wasn't getting paid for it. But I am so I took the entire week before the wedding off. Though one day is not a lot at all.

If I were in your shoes, I'd take 2 days off, 1 unpaid and 1 paid and leave it at that.

ETA: Hmmm I didn't see that you're on a Sunday. As long as you have Friday/Saturday off, I'd leave it as is! HTH!

I am only taking the day before the wedding off. I dont want to leave myself with no more days for the remainder of the year.

Our wedding is on a Friday & I am only taking off Thursday. I will go crazy being home any more then that. Plus I prefer some extra time off after the honeymoon to catch up on laundry & grocery shopping.
