I am torn on whether or not to spend the extra money to get one of the light set ups with my DJ. My wedding is from 12 - 530 and its in the jericho terrace dome room. I had always thought there would be plenty of light so there would be no need for lights.. however i just read on farmers almanac that sunset that day is 445. Did you girls get lights, and if you didnt did you wish you had? I feel like people are more apt to dance if they are there for some reason...

Re: Daytime wedding girls.. HELP
our wedding is the same time as your's and i didn't want to spend the money. i think our dj said there's a glare or something at our hall if we got lighting anyway - like the place has lots of windows.
personally, i say save your money, but i think most brides like lighting. we're not into the club type look either (we're older) so that wasn't the 'look' we were going for either. think about it this way, years ago that wasn't a concern and people still danced and had a good time

Re: Daytime wedding girls.. HELP
i wouldnt get them for a day time wedding - even with the sun setting at 4:45 - you'd really only be able to use the lights for like 45 minutes or so and to me that is a waste....the only way i could see it being worth the money is if it rains that day and its dark enough to use them during the entire reception....i think people will dance regardless of if the DJ has lights or not....

Re: Daytime wedding girls.. HELP
i would not have them for that short time-- we are having a sunday day wedding and i am not using lights from the dj --we got a giveaway pkg with ours instead of the lights. our reception is over at 5.pm-

i wouldnt get it for a daytime wedding
most of the lighting packages dj's offer, are for the colored lighting to give it a different effect, not so much to bring more light into the place. The dj's lights work if the room is dark and then they use their lights, otherwise no need for it.

I'm not getting them...we can't afford it anyway LOL...it isn't necessary during the day.

Re: Daytime wedding girls.. HELP
I agree with the other girls. The sky will still be light even if it rained that day & it is not optimized for a day wedding. JUst not worth forking over the extra money. You can do something different like maybe put crystals or something to catch the light & sparkle if you wanted something 'extra'

Re: Daytime wedding girls.. HELP
ps you can see from my pic that the room was REAL bright in the skylight room & people still got on the dance floor during the day.
