De Seversky Center NYIT

Has anyone ever been to a wedding at The De Seversky Center at NYIT? How was it? Does anyone have any pics? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A friend of mine had her wedding there last Sept and it was beautiful.
My company also has our annual picnic there every year. The place is gorgeous and the food is amazing.

Thank you so much. We are checking it out this weekend. We fell in love with The Vanderbilt mansion in oakdale but they only fit 150 people, this place fits 200 and hopefully we will find it even more breathtaking than the vanderbilt. Thanks again.

If you can find them-Great! If not thank you anyway. Do you know if the dinner and dancing in the pics you have seen are in the same room?

I am having my wedding there toooooooooooooo!

For 200 ppl you can do either Mansion style or ref sit down... but I think it would be tight for sit down!

Did you look at the Harrison House??? Now called Glen Cove Mansion??? They will fit more.

I love deseversky... but I know that the Glen Cove Mansion holds more ppl if you want a Sit down.

I'm fine not having a sit down, I just want everyone comfortable and happy and to enjoy themselves. I know I can't please everyone but I'm still trying. My FH didn't like the Glen cove mansion-I did, but thank you for the suggestion. They quoted me for Nov. $115 for a sunday night and $120 for a sat night-does this sound about right? It's fine with me I just wanted to know if they quote around the same for everyone. Thanks for your help. Lindsey
PS what is mansion style?

I have been there several times and each time was set up a little different.
The Wedding was cocktail hour half outside and half in this atrium room. The sit down dinner/dancing was in another room.
When my Company has events there, we usually set everything up on the main grass area and it's buffet style.

take a lok at the bourne mansion in oakdale - run by lessins - the ballroom can comfortably fit 200

the largest original ballroom on LI

Re: De Seversky Center NYIT

Mansion style is just a LONG cocktail hour like 4 hours... and dancing speratly in the ballroom... Some ppl like it b/c its a little different then the normal wedding...

Your pricing is about right... Actually thats the pricing for December... November was HIGHER.

So I would go with that pricing if thats what she quoted!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

So Far I am the only 07 bride getting married there... I want a hall twin.

Also on BHB there is a entire thread for deseversky. Do a search and you will find it!

we had my sister's shower there in april! we did a lunch. the setting is gorgeous but the food is so so. also, i would not put more than 120 ppl in the room if you want dancing to be comfortable.

Thats weird... They are 'known' for their food... and the Chef is one of the best around... I find that supprising that it was only 'so, so'

Oh well... I am not going to worry... I guess eveyone has a bad day once in a while... I just hope its not on my wedding day. hehehhe
