Deadbeat Grooms!

Deadbeat Grooms!

I was pretty disgruntled at my fiance this weekend. He seems to squirm whenever I mention wedding planning.

Anyone else have a deadbeat fiance???

I hate to call him a 'deadbeat', but he really has NO interest in planning this wedding. It is upsetting, but that's just not his thing. He keeps telling me he can't wait to be married, but planning it is not his thing. It's aggravating.

I wish he was more into it... but I guess that's why I have your girls!

Well, on Saturday evening I wouldn't call him 'deadbeat' but last night he was.

Saturday evening he listened to all I had to say about wedding planning. I gave him a list of vows and ring exchange sayings and he chose one.

But last light when I wanted to practice dancing for our first song....he got irritable....

Oh well, can't ask for too much in a weekend...I guess

So yeah, I know what you mean.

hahaha....kind of. this was our conversation saturday:

ME-'Next weekend we are going to pick out a tux.'
FH-'No.'
ME-'Yes, then it's done and all the other guys can go get measured and you'll know what you're wearing.'
FH-'I thought you already picked it out on your own.'
ME-'No. I picked the colors, you have to pick which style you want.'
FH-'Oh, well we can do that in July.'
ME-**walks away disgusted, shaking head and annoyed while throwing hands up in the air**

Don't mean to laugh, but I LOVE that you put it in dialogue form. I KNOW that is going to be the script for me and my FH when the tux issue come up!!! Thanks for preparing me! lol

My FH is a total PITA when it comes to weddng planning. He is embarassingly rude to every vendor we go to because 'they are sales people trying to make a buck. They are up to their ears in bulls***.' Of course they are sales people! Hello? There is so much competition they have to promote themselves! All he says to them is 'What's the bottom line? Let's fast forward to the end...how much?'

I think it's funny how girls see their wedding as their big fantasy, princess day while guys see it solely as a financial burden.

I completely understand...

Took my FH to talk to a florist this weekend and he sat there playing at the buttons on his shirt. I finally sent him to the dry cleaners to kill some time for him!!!

As for the tux, he is convinced that he wants a chocolate brown tuxedo. So now he is putting his effort into finding one.... my only relief is knowing that he will never find one!!! The things they put their energy into makes me laugh!!!

My FH has had one job assigned to him so far- book Limos....he called one Limo company and got a really high price and gave up (this is after 4 weeks of me getting on his azz about it) Needless to say, I had to take over and wound up booking our limos. At least he came along for the ride.

Mine likes to get overly involved when I have suggestions or ideas by making comments shooting me down, but when it comes time for suggestions or actions he amazingly disappears!

That's funny... that's the one thing my guy came with me on. But I did all the talking. (I'm the negotiator... if it were up to him, he'd take the first thing they offered us! lol). Well, he did go with me to book the place, and convinced me to not stray from my dream place, which I will always be grateful for him for.

I do hope that he goes with me for the final trip to the DJ to plan the night... even though he 'doesn't dance'. I'm going to have to somehow convince him to practice dancing with me... even if it's in the privacy of our home. We need work. lol

Re: Deadbeat Grooms!

A majority of grooms are like that, and thank God, because then you would have one more opinion to add to the mix. How annoying would that be? I was kind of grateful that my DH let me make the decisions.
