Deadbeat Grooms!

Original post by Bridex100

I was pretty disgruntled at my fiance this weekend. He seems to squirm whenever I mention wedding planning.

Anyone else have a deadbeat fiance???

I hear ya. I have been complaining all weekend to the 07 brides. FH didn't want to be involved in planning, so all i asked was that he see the hall i picked out. So i was so excited to bring him to Flowerfield and he totally shot be down. He wasn't impressed and all he did was complain about how much it would cost. i was really upset.

Ugh, I cant get a straight answer from FH on anything! The only thing he had any interest in was the honeymoon. Other than that.....
'what do you think of these invitations'?
Pick whatever one you like....
'What do you want our first song to be'?
I dont know, whatever you want to use....
'I booked the dj!'
Ok...
'What do you think of this favor'?
If you like it, its fine...
'I am so excited, I ordered my dress today
Dress for what, do you really think i was serious about getting married?hahahaha

Thankfully, I have my mother to help me

Mine didn't do much in the planning process, helped me with the band and the hall. But I didn't really ask for help til the very end. Plus he gave his .02 when necessary.

But let me tell you how funny it is DURING the wedding when you FHs are SOOO impressed with all of the work you've done! It was like a surprise to mine and he thinks I should be a wedding planner now. Ha!

Mine loves everything wedding related! Except, of course, the blood-thirsty vendors and large payments He was more into the planning than I was.

FH couldn't care less about wedding planning. He wants to get married but has absolutely no interest in the details. He hates when I bring it up all the time, but I don't know what he expects when it's consuming my life right now! Thank God I have my mom to help me with all of that.

Mine likes to get overly involved when I have suggestions or ideas by making comments shooting me down, but when it comes time for suggestions or actions he amazingly disappears!

He must go to the same wedding planning school my FH goes to!

Re: Deadbeat Grooms!

After the photographer was booked, my FH mostly lost interest.

I give him little jobs to do that I know he can handle. Like printing out the envelopes for the invites. And designing/making the placecards and table numbers. He doesn't know it yet but I'm also going to make him do a menu. Have to wait until after the tasting though.

We were picking songs for the DJ the other day and suddenly it was something he wanted to do. But his music taste is funny and he picks things that aren't crowd-pleasers but he likes them because he thinks he's cool for picking something no one has heard before.

So I had to quash a lot of that! I guess I should be careful what I wish for. Mostly it's easier when he's NOT involved!!
