Dear Drivers
Driving Lesson of the Day,
Dear Other Drivers (not me because clearly I am flawless
),
I would like to explain some simple concepts to you:
Left Hand Turners: THE TURN LANE - it is this magical thing that you can drive into before you turn, so as to not block oncoming traffic. So if you are turning, get your car into the turn lane ASAP (don't mosey over into it or kind of go halfway into it, so I have to squeeze past).
Right Hand Turners: STOPPING. It is appropriate at stop signs, if the car in front of you stops and at red lights. It is not appropriate before a right hand turn or during a right hand turn (when you are about 3/4 of the way in and that back left part of your car is still in my way). You just need to slow down a bit to turn right - there is no real reason to STOP.
Car driving Straight in Front of Me: GAS PEDAL - I know driving straight can be tricky. So many lines to stay between, so many cars and curbs. Despite these driving hardships, I would appreciate it if you could at least approach the speed limit. If there is one lane and the speed limit is 45, is there really a good reason to go 35? To speed up you press that pretty little pedal next to the brake (ie - the Gas Pedal)
Thanks,
Hopefully you will all improve on the way home tonight
