Dear...hospital patients...

dear old ladies in the hospital room 201 bed 1 and 2,

I really love working with old people cuz their so sweet and really need my help, i know im talking LOUD and repeating my self 1300 times.. but thats because the lady in 201 bed 3 is HARD OF HEARING and didnt have her hearing aids in so she COULDNT HEAR ME... i fortunately am NOT hard of hearing so when im STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU... DO NOT TALK ABOUT ME!!! cuz you know what when you need to get up to go 'pee-pee and pooooopy' i will take my sweet @ss time getting there. Its RUDE when you say that i talk to my patients like their stupid cuz i was doing everything in my power to make this poor upset/confused lady feel comfortable. so next time your going to talk about 'those horrible STUDENT nurses' that you dont want taking care of you... YOU GOT IT we dont want to help mean old ladies like you anyway!!

My grandmother is in the hospital tonight. We probably won't have many more nights with her. I am grateful to the nurses who show care and compassion for the elderly and understand the limitations age brings. Unfortunately, patients in the hospital may not exhibit the best judgment or most polite behavior. Thankfully, there are wonderful health care providers who exhibit compassion and grace while caring for our loved ones.
