I don't think people truly understand the horrific crimes that murderers have commited... They are some sick sick f*cks out there who commit the most heinous crimes...I am not talking about the Aileen's of the world... I have read a lot of true crime books as well as FBI profiler books... I read this one book called 'the girl in the box'... Some sick ******* kidnapped a girl and kept her in a cofin FOR YEARS! When he slept, she slept in a cofin like box UNDERNEATH HIS BED! He would strap her up in a basement and do the sickest things imaginable...AND DID THIS TO HER FOR YEARS!!!!!!

Im for it, but Im more for cruel and unusual punishment. Drown the focker, until theyre on their last breathe,, and then bring them back up. rip out their toe nails one by one and then drive spikes into them. Sorry, i cant feel for people who murder children, or torture another human being. the death penalty is too good for them IMO. i think they need to feel at least an Ounce of pain like what those families have felt. Yes, the criminal dying wont bring the victim back, but neither will him sitting in jail watching TV and scratching his balls.
and i have to also disagree with the theory that these people change! someone that can go to such an extreme and commit such acts will not just do a 180. Ive read a million cases and studied this as well. There is something mentally/ chemically wrong with them, and JAIL (of ALL places) is not going to teach them to be better individuals. how is getting raped in the shower going to make anyone a better member of society? the most the could possibly do is fake it long enough to be once again deemed an acceptable member of society.
Think of it this way. Say the only option was dealth penalty of freedom. Then how would you feel about it? AND how would you feel about it if one of these people did 25 years for murder and then moved next door to you? what about if you had kids?
i feel like some many people are too liberal about this- 'oh people can change... let them back into society--- as long as *I* dont have to deal with them... let them live in some other neighborhood... blah blah blah

I am for it... but it should only be applied in cases where there is SUBSTANTIAL evidence against the accused.
If the evidence is strickly coincidental... then it shouldn't be used.
But if there are eye witnesses... DNA... etc... then yeah if you are guilty on murder one... you should get it.

I really don't see how you can give this guy the death penalty. I know every woman of the world is calling for his head... but the evidence is just too circumstantial. Life in jail... yeah. Death penalty... no.
OJ is a different story. He should have gotten the needle. His DNA and blood was everywhere.

And in response to DjPill... If they found him GUILTY of murdering the two of them ...well then he would DEFINATELY get the death penalty... How could they not..?
If they felt the evidence was sooo circumstantial then they should have found him innocent! But since he was found guilty...then the evidence shouldn't play into the decision in sentencing...He is guilty in their eyes already ...hence death penalty
Oh and it is funny how OJ's DNA was everywhere, the man is jetting away ina truck and STILL found innocent...MAKES ME SICK!

Yes but remember the judicial system does not work that way. There are always two decisions to make. One to decide the guilt, and the other to decide the punishiment.
Not all guilts deserve the same punishments. And you can't NOT look at the evidence in deciding the punishment.
I still can't believe they found him guilty. Not saying he didn't do it... but no body... no murder weapon... no DNA... no nothing.
There is no way in hell he is getting the death penalty in light of this. If he gets that... that will set such an example in our court system that even the lawyers out there wouldn't want to touch because this case then becomes reference to future cases out there.
But hey... i could be wrong for a second time too.

No not all guilty vedicts get the same punishment but IMO all heinous crimes...the murderers should get the DP.
