i too agree with you...I am a McCain supporter as well and for my own reasons which according to previous posters may be wrong because they don't know how anyone can vote for McCain. But whatever haha
I agree neither or them really impressed me. I don't really like Obama all that much anyway, the way he speaks, presents himself I don't know just something about him. But that is definitely not the only reasons I am not voting for him.
But I feel there was a lot of mudsliding going on and I agree with Denise also, I don't know how they can say any one specific person 'won' that debate. VP debates= much more interesting.
Just curious, since you are a McCain supporter -- what did you think of the VP debates? Did you think Palin won?

I have to see what Lou Dobbs thinks haha. He criticizes everybody, the democrats the republicans, he will throw them all under the table and tell it like it is
I think Obama did well last night, but I don't think McCain did that badly. I was interested to see that all of the commentators (even Republicans) on CNN thought Obama came out ahead by a lot or by a slight margin, but they made excuses about the economy and how the incumbent party rarely wins re-election if the economy is doing poorly. I thought last night was a little more of a draw...
However, I 100% believe that Biden won the VP debate -- I want to bang my head against the wall when I hear people saying Palin won, but what can you do?
In the end, I dont think either candidate will accomplish everything they promise, so you have to go with the one whose values are most aligned with your own and hope for the best. It will be a long road, but hopefully things get better. I wouldn't want to be President, and I hope whoever wins is actually up for the challenge.
I think towards the end Obama did get better. One thing I did like was that he used a personal experience that was close to his heart to talk about medicare which showed how strongly he does feel about the issue. You did see how important it was to him and the passion behind his words since he spoke about his mother having cancer and having to deal with insurance while shes in a hospital bed. I think it also helped others see that he is or was like most of us are well the average middle class american.
I didnt even watch the VP debate and im sure Biden won. I saw some parts of the debate when Palin was speaking and maybe its just the few clips i saw but i was sitting there watching and thinking 'w** is she saying'
very well said, at this point lets just all hope that the president and the rest of our government will be able to fix some of the problems and turn things around a bit.

um...you know what I am NOT a big supporter of Palin. I think she is ok. She speaks intelligently as a person but I think she has alot more to learn throughout this process. However, I don't want to get flagged saying this but I think Biden acts sort of like a pompous @$$ I just don't like how he comes across or speaks etc etc. I think he did well and I think she did well. But like Denise said you can't say an F student who received a C grade did great they improved and you have to acknowledge that but it still isn't great. So yes I feel Palin did well but I don't think she 'won' that debate if I was looking at it from a non-partisian point of view.

I agree with what you are saying about the F and the C student with Palin. Just because there was improvement you are right-- it does not mean that they won. On the same token i feel that Biden was always an A student so people expected him to get a Triple A or something and that's why they are not being judged equally. Facts are facts Biden did a better job at the responses. I thought that in his debate with Palin, Biden showed a more sensitive side to him that is not always seen. I was able to appreciate that.

I agree with the grade analogy. We expected an F and got a C so while she did improve, it wasn't an incredible performance. I didn't know much about Biden -- I watched hours of CNN that day and saw some of the things he's said in the past, so I was a little worried that he would put his foot in his mouth too. I thought he did an excellent job, didn't screw up but also had great answers to the questions.

OMG you are so right! One thing that I can say is that they were both extremely well coached for the debate. I was happily surprised that Biden didn't flip out and conducted himself as a gentleman the whole time.

Re: Debate!!!
I can see your annoyance with the 'How can anyone vot for this person' It is annoying and I normally try not to say things like that but last night it came out and I apologize to some of you who felt offended. I hate when people say that about my candidate and I did the same thing last night. Like someone quoted from SNL 'The winner of the debate was....whoever you were going to vote for'
However I will say, I find evey debate to be extremely interesting. The town hall format was awful because once McCain started with the attacks it was almost impossible for the other to address the attack and that isnt fair. They should be allowed to go back and forth when one candidate chooses to bash the other and not move on to another question. It ends up taking the focus off of whats important. Hopefully the last debates format is better.

McCain was repeating himself and being nasty to Obama...he did not verbalize any clear plan of action to help get America out of this deficit! Obama clearly stated that by taking away the billions of tax cuts oil companies and CEO's get we can work toward improving the defeict. McCain doesn't thing ANYONE'S taxes should be raised...hmm let me see....that means keep all the same....keep giving oil companies, lobbyist, CEO's the relief while the average American carries the same burden? I mean give me a break...Obama is clear that he will raise taxes for those that make more than $250,000 and give cuts to those who make less....this will in turn help the deficit which will lead to reforming social security...
Basically what I got out of the debate is that McCain wants to do things Bush's way....Obama has clear plans of action that will hopefully benefit our country
The old way isn't working..I say let's give Obama a shot !
Very well put! I completely agree!

i just get more and more torn with every debate.... at first, i was all for one side, then i started to second guess myself - NOW im starting to second guess myself AGAIN!!!!
i just dont know what to do
some people have been saying that they are just going to not vote - WHICH IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read up, educate yourself & make the 'best' decision even if there is no 'perfect' b/c there will NEVER be a 'perfect'

I know who I'm voting for. The debates haven't changed my opinions.
On a side note, I do just want to say that I'm very happy that so many of us are so involved, interested and knowledgeable. I am happy to know that you are all really analyzing the issues, the candidates and their views. I'm happy to be surrounded by such informed people!
