I thought I'd make a new one for you. Thanks for asking about the Safari! Sorry if this is too detailed ![]()
OMG, it's sooo amazing.
In a nutshell:
Fly to Amsterdam then to Arusha, Tanzania (East Africa)
Sleep at a Coffee Plantation overnight. Have breakfast the next morning then begin our Safari! It will be FH, me and driver in a Land Rover Defender for the entire Safari portion of the trip.
Day 1: Drive to Lake Manyara (opening scenes of Out of Africa were shot here) - home of the famous tree climbing lions, many giraffe, elephant, baboons, and many other animals. Have a picnic lunch near a hippo filled lake then make our way through jungle and into the Great Rift Valley.
Arrive at Ngoronogoro Crater (Africa's answer to the Grand Canyon). Drive around the rim of the crater and arrive at our hotel for sundowners (cocktails) and dinner. Sleep at Lodge.
Day 2: Decend into Ngoronogoro before sunrise to view animals. Have breakfast on the crater floor. Come back to hotel for lunch and relaxation. Drive back down the crater in late afternoon for more game viewing and sundowners. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 3, 4, 5: Decend into Ngorongoro one more time and drive through to the other side and out into the Serengeti. Spend the next three nights in a luxury tented camp. Game viewing includes the Great Migration of Wildebeast, Zebra & Gazelle's and also the 'big game' - Lion, Chetah, Elephant, Rhino, Hippo, etc..
Day 6: Fly from Seregeti to Zanzibar - an Island of the East Coast of Tanzania. Spend the day touring the famous spice plantations. Sleep in the Stone Town.
Day 7, 8, 9, 10: After a tour of the historial Stone Town, drive across the island to a Beach Resort where we will spend the next 4 nights in a beautiful suite right on the beach.
