December Brides

December Brides

Since December is right around he corner I was thinking we can have this spot where we can post ideas and help each other out. I know I am starting to get a little stressed with the amount of things that need to be done in such a short period of time.

My theme: At first I was thinking all Christmas. Now I am thinking a little more of Christmas meets winter wonderland. I know we are def going to have the caroles for the conktail hour and probably pictures with santa. I was thinking of having the receptiuon room all silver and white. Anyone have any good pictures of wintery centerpieces, cakes, etc.

Thanks
Lisa

Re: December Brides

thats exactly what i am doing - christmas meets winter wonderland - the lobby of the RH is decorated for christmas, fireplaces, christmas trees, all that good stuff - my bms are wearing a taupe/gold dress with a silver brooch, my invites match the bridesmaid dress - with the bronze/gold/taupe and a rhinestone slide - i wanted christmas but i wanted to stay away from red so i went with more of gold/glittery theme, the only thing red will be the boks - girls will have dark red callas and ill have black magic roses and dark callas.....our string trio is going to play some christmas stuff during the CH, and there will be a holiday vibe - once the reception starts we are doing something totally different - blue uplighting throughout the room, lots of candles, hanging crystals, a totally different feel then the begining of the evening - i can't wait!

That sounds almost like what I am doing with the Reception room. I wanted it to look more elegant with the whites and silvers and crystals. My decorator just cancelled with me on Saturday so now I am trying to find a florist and start all over again with the centerpieces... So much to do

Hey. I am following the trend and doing Winter Wonderland Also. I am supposed to see my flowers this coming Saturday. We requested all white flowers with some curly willows init. My florist also agreed to paint some of the branches Silver to give it a snowy feel. I requested LOTS of candles everywhere. My Reception Hall just put in a new lighting system so the flowers should change to whatever color the room is. I must say I am tired of wedding planning though. I feel like I keep doing stuff but there is always more to do,

I'm doing a more Christmas-like theme. My colors are red, ivory and silver.

Flowers I'm going with all high CP's in trumpet vases with berries and holly in the vase and cream and red roses (maybe red calla lillies). For my flowers I'm thinking of soing all red calla lillies like teenagirl (an 08 bride). For my BM's I'm thining of a tight bo-k of cream roses with holly and berried mixed throughout.

My girls dresses are Apple red from David's Bridal.

Our invites are faux pocket folds with a velvet red ribbn creating the pocket fold. On the red ribbon is a layered monogram. Overall it's ecru shimmery stock layered with silver and red backers and the writing is in red.

I wish I had more pics but please take a look in my albums.

Re: December Brides

I am so confused with what I want to do whether all white and silver and then blue lighting with snowflakes to creat a tyoe of winterwonderland look or if I want to go with more of the reds and greens for Christmas for teh actual reception room... So confused....

yah thanks i think i found a centerpiece idea

still doing 1/2 candles but the other half would this stay in my christmas (red/gold) theme??

the pictures below are of the 2 centerpieces i would join together...use branches (brown or gold) and have like almost christmas lights on them (instead of candles) and then at the bottom of the vase with the branches i would put red/cream roses with holly and berries and maybe some small balls (that look like ornmanets) ??? any ideas? not good or ehh or YES! lol

thanks!! I want to make sure it isn't too christmasy you know and i want to stick to red and gold not really green too much except a little with holly

but do you think it is still i guess elegant and romantic with 1/2 tables candle centerpieces and 1/2 tables those branches with lights on them or should i do candles hanging from them and then the flowers on the bottom? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
