I've never been to JT, but a few of my friends are getting married there next year, so I trust their judgment that it is good. I've been to Russo's, which has a nice room and really good food. Tough call!

Try a restaurant!
Don't give up. There are many venues that would meet your needs. You DO NOT need to go to a big catering hall!

Michelle,
We also looked at Russo's, (which was out of our budget) but everyone said was worth the money. One thing I found was they were a little snotty to us because we weren't looking to book on the spot. And no negogiating, they were firm with their prices. He loved the Chateau Briand, but they were booked on our date. We ended booking Jericho Terrace. I have to agree I think for the price per person you get a lot. Check into booking a Friday night. It was less than Saturday and we would have done it but a Saturday is a lot more convienient for us. We booked the Atrium for cocktail and Skylight Room for the reception. I personally loved the decor, and even though Russo's has a great reputation, I know our wedding there is going to be amazing.

I live about 10 minutes away from Russos. I went looking in August 2000 for my February 16th 2002 wedding.Russos was already booked back then for that night. They could have given me a Friday night or Sunday afternoon. They will not do ceremonies on a Saturday night because they have 2 many weddings going on at once. Since we are having a priest and a rabbi Friday night would be no good for us and I had my heart set on a night wedding. We are going with the Sands in atlantic beach. I fell in love with the place even more than Russos. I know it is a hard choice and I have never been to Jericho but Russos is known for very very good weddings and their February prices are pretty good compared to other times of the year. My favorite room was the one where you come out of the wall. I forgot the name of it. How many weddings are going on at the same time at Jerricho? I know Russos has several at the same time. Good luck with your decision. I know you will make the right choice.

My original plans for using a specific Bridal Assistant have become HISTORY, she is no longer available. Can anyone recommend a hair/make-up person who will travel to a hotel for a Friday night wedding. The thought of having it done in Westchester and then going to Long Island doesn't sit well with me.

Michelle M,

I have to agree with Mel's earlier post. It sounds as if you have made up your mind. You should go with your heart on this and not let a name or anything else sway your desire.

Michelle,
We booked April 27, 2002. I was also told that at that time of year they only do 2 weddings at a time and that they are staggered. So far we are the only ones booked for that night. They said that usually only in Sept and Oct is there a chance they book all three rooms b/c it's their busy months. Being the only wedding wasn't a main concern for us, but the best advice I can give is to go with your gut. Like you I loved their whole atmosphere but honestly what sold us on it was what you get for your money. Best of luck I'm sure you'll go with whatever suits the two of you.

Congratulations! Now the real fun begins. Despite your worries once everything starts to come together you'll forget about that other place (Russos). At least we did! How did you do on the pricing? Are you going to get any of the upgrades?

Not at all...didn't even know they had it. I found out afterward that the valets were extremely professional and couteous to all of my guests. I really have not one complaint about the Metropolitan...except that the bridal suite leaves a little to be desired, but how much time do you really spend in there anyway? I didn't get ready there. The place is magnificent. You should go for a tasting. They will let you do that before you sign. They are confident enough that their food will BLOW YOU AWAY. I have not one regret about having my wedding there. PLease feel free to ask any other questions...

We are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. My FI had great memories of that place when he was a kid, so I thought it might be fun to stay there, besides it's only for a night
