Whats the best way to do this? What are things I should consider? I was thinking of things like uplighting, different linen colors to choose from, overall price. I just want to make sure I cover all bases.
Places: Chateau Briand - their plus is the lighting East Wind - Their plus is the price per plate Douglaston - Plus was the View and lower guest minimum
Thanks!! :)

Re: Deciding and Negotiating between RH
essentially, your going to fall in love with a place or two and you'll have to consider various factors on why you like it and how affordable it is.

Douglaston Manor all the way.
I did not care for the food at East Wind or the fact that cocktail hour if it's downstairs, has hotel guests walking to and from the gym and pool!
Chateau Briand food was pretty good but Douglaston Manor is unique and not like a catering hall.

Have you considered Venetian Yacht Club? They have uplighting built in and the view is amazing. Price is great too

It all depends on your taste. You will definitely fall in love with your place & know. Then factor in price, decor, extras, food, season etc. For me, my biggest thing was the carpets actually LOL It sounds crazy but I didnt want carpets that looked old and dated. I wasn't looking for rustic either. Every catering hall has something to offer. I would start with researching venue websites & reading reviews on here. Good luck choosing

I would list out the factors important to you in priority order and then compare/rate your favorite places on that.

Thank you so much for your responses..
Actually I have not checked out the Venetian Club yet... The room looks really big. Does anyone know what their minimum is for a sunday afternoon?
I have also been to a bunch of places thus far and both fiance and I fell in love with these three. I like the idea of the list. For us, I think some things would be food and overall price including discounted hotel stay for us and our bridal party. I actually didn't think about the possibility of hotel guests walking to the spa and what not at east wind... hmm.

Re: Deciding and Negotiating between RH
Im partial to East Wind. We booked the estate so that its our own private building and there are no hotel guests walking around. The estate is beautiful and secluded! We loved it!
The bottom line is that once you find a place you love, youll know it! Just dont over extend yourself money-wise. We didnt even look at places we knew were over our price per plate so that we didnt fall in love, and compare everything to something we couldnt afford.

Amount of food you're getting. Even if you're exaggerating a bit its still a good bargaining factor.

The downstairs room is much smaller than the upstairs room. We are in the upstairs room and had to guarantee 150 but I think downstairs is 100. Email my banquet manager Eric and ask him what the minimum is for a Sunday afternoon during that month/year. [email protected]

Re: Deciding and Negotiating between RH
Thanks, I did just that lol.
I don't know if its the same with you girls, but my fiance has to fall just as much in love with the RH as me so this will be fun lol. Pricewise, I just really wanted to try and negotiate with all three to get the lowest possible deals before deciding. We won't be going back until about February to start negotiating details.
BTW, We are also going to do a Nightmare Before Christmas theme.

Re: Deciding and Negotiating between RH
things i kept in mind were pp price, what i was getting for the money, reviews on the food (because that was super important to me), location (make sure you like the inside as much as the outside if you have bad weather), the people you will be working with at the venue...and then smaller things like shapes of tables, linens, dance floor space, refund policy (god forbid), if anyone offered cash discounts, etc

Re: Deciding and Negotiating between RH
We liked Fox hollow & Larkfield best, for different reasons. We compared the pricing (after balancing out extras/ savings for different things) AND reviews online.
Bottom line, price made our choice for us. (we wouldnt have been able to choose otherwise!)
