I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. DO you invite everyone with a guest? That can definately add up, so was wondering, who do you invite with a guest. How do you make the decision who can come with guest and who can't. Is there a certain time they have to be dating?

Re: Decisions
I am inviting everyone with a guest. I know it adds up but I felt rude otherwise.

Re: Decisions
Martha Stewart Weddings did an article on planning your guest list this month:
'As for guests' significant others, it's standard to invite the wives or husbands of guests. Couples who are engaged or living together generally are also both invited. With regard to single guests, it's up to you to decide whether they may bring dates.'
We are inviting everyone with a guest. It definitley beefs up the guest list, but who wants to go to a wedding alone?

I am inviting everyone over 18 with a guest. It adds up but I would be annoyed if I was single and wasnt invited with a guest. JMO though!

Re: Decisions
I think the decision is entirely up to you. Generally, I think most people get invited with a guest, but when it comes down to it, YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT! I recently was at my friends wedding and a guest brought someone that no one knew. This person eneded up making a fool of themselves ( hitting on bartenders, falling on the dance floor and throwing up at the table!!). When I spoke to the bride when she got back from her honeymoon, the first thing she said to me was ' I cannot believe I paid $ for a drunken a--hole who I never met before in my life to be at my wedding.' At least she can laugh about it now!!!

Re: Decisions
we invited everyone with guests - its more $$ but we thouight of how we hated being invited without guests to weddings.....its up to them if they choose to bring someone but we are giving them the option!

Re: Decisions
We also invited all singles with a guest - & silently held our breath that they all did NOT bring a guest!! Altho we had space if they all decided to bring someone.
And I'd say 98% of the singles RSVPed for one, but all told us they appreciated the fact that they could bring a guest.
My cousin did not invite singles with a guest, which I think just prompted those singles to ASK if they could bring someone and FIND someone to bring, since they weren't given a choice initially.
