I received two declined response cards back from my co-workers. They never mentoned that they weren't coming and on the response card, they wrote that they will attend the ceremony but not the reception. These are people that I see everyday and I know that they can afford to come. I'm a little offended that they never told me to my face. I am being ridiculous?
No you're not being ridiculous, but yes you should get used to it. You're going to be surprised by a lot of the responses you get. Trust me.

I feel the same way. Fh invited some childhood friends who he thought for a fact was coming but turnaround and sent a No response. I can tell it's making him feel bad but I told him brush it off. We have other guests that said yes and let's just focus on them.
people decline wedding invites for a variety of reasons. its clear they dont have another comittment if they are going to the ceremony. did you have a seperate check off for that? perhaps in the end they cant afford it. gift, dress, sitter if they have kids etc. it can add up. just know that those who really want to be there will! perhaps they felt uncomfortable telling you. i know from personal experience when i declined a wedding invite i just mailed it back. it was uncomfy!

we had a ALOT of surprise no's... most of which we still haven't gotten a real reason from. Unfortunately people surprise you during this... in a bad way.
I think people just feel uncomfortable declining an invitation to someone's face. Totally stupid and immature which also creates a weird situation considering you are going to see them at work everyday.
