If you are looking to get married in July of 2012 time is absolutely not running out. If I were you I would keep looking at places and wait until you fall in love with the a place. You do not want to look back on your wedding day and hate or not love your venue! That is a huge piece of the wedding.
Agreed. We booked our RH a year out almost to the exact day. It was fine! Take your time, there's NO need to rush.
I completely agree! My friend just booked for Nov 2011. Please please please do not rush into this decision.
And also, do not cross a place off your list just by looking at phots on a website. And if you are very serious about a place, I am sure they will negoiate a teensy bit.

I'm contemplating Jericho Terrace, the Dome Room, but I would love to bring the decor to the room..at this point idk if its worth the extra money bc they are fairly priced, plus I'm sure I can negotiate. I would love to change the chairs (either chair covers or change the chairs all together), table linens, flatware, plates...anyone know a rough estimate how much extra that would run me? Also, any recommended decor specialists? All I know of are W Events bc of my visit at Woodbury CC..they do good work! Also how much would huge centerpieces cost roughly for 20 tables? Havent crossed that bridge yet, and was wondering how much to expect..thanks!
i think that JT gives you the chair covers but they only had them in ivory. i could be wrong.
try tablewraps.com or wrapwithus.com for renting table linens. sometimes it's cheaper to purchase then to buy.
depending on your florist, high centerpieces are generally $100+ each. mine are $150 each from flowers by brian (see photos in album).
i don't know anything about renting plates, flatware etc.
HTH!

i kind of disagree with this.
we booked in the beginning of january 2010 for november 2011 wedding and were able to get 2009 rates for our RH b/c they hadn't updated their charts yet! also, b/c we were so far out, our BM was willing to give us a lot for our money.
of course, you have to be 100% sure you love your place, but for me, it worked better in the long run. most of the places you visit will only honor the price they gave you for a maximum of 30 days so if you wait longer than that, they reserve the right to raise the rates that you negotiated long and hard for.
