Definetly save enough money for nonsense!!!!!!!!

Everyday we need something new. And we bought the house in move in condition.

Dishwasher is not draining properly, we needed to paint(well we didn't need to but our living room, dining room was pink and baby blue), alarm system, landscaping, pub table for kitchen, bakers rack, chandelier, and all the little extras! It adds up.

I went to LNT and spent a fortune. Plus I spent so much at the grocery store because I love cooking in my new kitchen.

If you are buying a house, keep some money on the side for all the little things!!!

I just needed to vent

Sorry these purchases are a surprise and you're stressing

We have to save so much money aside for the BIG things that we won't be able to afford the little things

Dont forget to include the cost of cleaning supplies! I cant believe how much we spend on cleaning supplies and it has gone up in the 6 months we have had our dog! And dont even get me started on how much I have spent on window treatments! Those things are pricy!

Oh and there are always the big things, like our Hot Water Heater that just broke. Luckily my dad is a plumber and istalled it! Petro wanted us to pay $1400 for a new one, we paid less than $500!!!

With a house there is ALWAYS something!

On a POSITIVE NOTE:
Don't worry girls... it is totally stressful in the beginning-- but it does truly even out.
It won't be like this all the time! Once you get all those 'must have' items out of the way (that you'll probably never have to buy again) it does get better, and you'll be able to save some more.
After almost 2 years we are FINALLY getting to that point.
It's long and hard... but there is a silver lining!!

I know exactly what you mean. Our house was completely gutted on the inside, everything was new. There were little things we needed to buy like a stair rail, closet rods and shelves. We ended up spending $1500 between trips to Home Depot, Lowes, Target and Bed Bath Beyond the first month in the house.

We also spent $800 to have 4 rooms painted bc DH didn't have time to do himself with work and school.

I can't image what we would have had to spend if the house was not rehabbed.
