GOOD FOR YOU!!! Don't let ANYONE take advantage of you! There are 100's of other photographers that will accomodate you, in your price range, without 'nickel and diming' you!

Even if he lowers the price, i would consider another photography place... how dare he put time constraints on you on your wedding day!!!

Wow! $6,000 and you don't even get printed proofs....Does that include an album?

I think that it is very nice of you to write a letter explaining why you are choosing not to go with them.

yeah, it included 600 proofs on CD, 1 large album, 2 parent albums (exact duplicates of mine....he wanted to charge us a ton of $$ to make seperate albums...my family is HUGE and his isn't...his mom shouldn't have to have a book of a hundred people she doesn't know!) and 125 t/y pics (no card) and some big pics for me and hubby. Plus a basic (i mean BASIC) video package.

honestly, i wouldn't give them that much information. i would jst say 'thank you for meeting with us, but we have decided not to use your services at this time'. telling him all of your opinions (being turned off, etc) just gives him fuel for his fire.

i would keep it very short and sweet

ps...i had to do this with a vendor i HAD booked. someone looked over my cancellation letter and told me the same advice.

I don't know the story of what has been going on with this vendor but I agree with the last post. You are not required to give a detailed explanation. Simply call and tell them thank you but you have decided to go with another vendor. End of story. The more you say the more points you give him to address.

thanks girls :) I actually sent the exact text that you guys saw....i know some felt i gave too much info, but i wanted him to know why. I really think he was being very pushy for money. What happened was when we met with him, we let him show us his work, then the video, then the albums, blah blah blah. He showed us all of our album choices. He told us to pick out what we would like. My package came to $7500 with video and all the options i wanted. My jaw DROPPED. I was like uhhhhhh no way. His work was great but i had no references to rely on. Plus that only included 8 hours of coverage. My wedding and reception are an hour apart as it is (traveling) and then there is time in between. CH is 7-8, rec is 8-12. It wouldn't have been enough time and then he just kept adding and adding. Somehow i talked him down to 6K but then he kept adding for every little thing. He flat out told me he starts getting paid as soon as he gets out of the car. Hello?!?! So not neccessary to say that!

i think 600 proofs sounds a little low - i have that same package basically (different vendor) and i paid about 1/2 that.

I am meeting up with Thomas Paul........and I can't wait!!! All of you pretty much reccomended him bc AG wasn't available and to be quiet honest, I am so happy bc we clicked so well on the phone!! I can't wait until friday to meet up with him and book him!!!! What would I do without this webpage?!?!
