I don't know if you're looking to do sit down or whatever but...

There is a bowling alley in Melville called 300 Long Island. THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE BOWLING ALLEY!! It is sooo much fun and they have a private room for parties that holds about 80 people. We're having our RD there and are hoping that it will be a nice relaxing and fun evening for our bp and oot guests. The food is casual (bbq amongst other things), but it is sooo good!!

Just thought I'd suggest this!

We had our RD at Stresa East in Woodbury. They have a private room, which was something we really wanted. Every other place we talked to didn't want anything to do with a Friday night RD b/c they'd have to close their restaurant down.

Im at the same stage of planning as you...WE are also looking for a place in Nassau county. All of these places have private rooms.
I haven't actually gone to any of these places but they were ones recommended so maybe they might work for you too:

Per Un Angelo (where I think we are going to have ours) in Wantagh
Ruth's Chris (A little pricy) in Garden City
HR Singelton's in Bethpage
Antionette's in Bellmore (Heard great things)
La Piazza in Merrick
