i think there's always going to be drama when planning a wedding, esp when you have different crowds of friend and big families. what you need to remember is that it's your day. the bigger you bridal party, the more $ that is coming out of your pocket... so just think it through before you start agreeing to everyone's suggestion.

Re: Bridesmaid Drama
ok you're being way too nice. 1 - you decide what your flower girls will wear, not anyone else. ridiculous.
2 - tell that girl who's upset that you're not even close with her and to shut it.
3 - I say bump your friend and her hubby out and deal w less stress. you don't have to worry about her wearing a different dress bc she wont be in the BP.
This is why I;m having a MOH and best man and no one else. lol
I'm mean. I have no patience for any of that.

lol i would have no problem being mean to her but she is going to be my sister in law so i dont know if i can be that mean... but i will probably make her feel left out because my brother is staying in ... lol
don't feel guilty about it ... she's the one who told you that she might not want to be in it .... if you want, give her the excuse of 'you'll be too prego to be in the bridal party and i wouldn't want to stress you out like that'
ps: yes, we've all had issues with these things ... my dad wanted his daughter (my step-sister) to be a FG but i told him no (i've seen her 10 times in my life ... she's 5 years old) ... then FH's brother wanted his son to be a RB but we told him no also because he won't be old enough.
it's your wedding - if people are mad or upset or offended, well, ef 'em ... it's not your problem they're so sensitive and selfish!

Re: Bridesmaid Drama
wow that sounds like a whole of everything going on and I know your easy going but that's just one big headache IMO.
Bottom line is, this is your wedding (you and FH). Unless all these other people are chipping in $$ for this wedding, they have no say in anything. You could smile and listen to opinions they might have (and trust everyone will have an opinion) but that does mean you have to execute their opinions. It's you and FH's decisions. And you have to go into this planning (no matter what area of the wedding it is) with the mentally if 'You cannot please everyone'. It's nice to try and make everyone happy, but it will never happen because there will always be one that isn't fully satisfied.

Re: Bridesmaid Drama
i agree with several of the other posters.
1. you can be easy going, but still be assertive. don't let people walk all over you and tell you how your wedding and BP will be.
2. the girl whom you are no longer close with should have no reason to be upset. You don't hang out anymore really and your not close, why does she want to be in your BP? doe sshe expect it? I would have a talk with her once and for all letting her know why you chose the people you did for your BP - because they are special to you. she will be a special part of your wedding day too, i'm sure she can be invited as a guest.
3. Why is your mom's bf telling you the FG have to wear yellow? they will wear anything you tell them too!
4. this is just me, but you have a whole lot of FG's! if you like that, that's fine, but it sounds like most of them you didn't want in your BP anyway, chose who you really want - don't forget, at the end of the day, you will have to buy your entire BP a gift and it will add up.
5. if your SIL doesn't want to be in the BP, then let her stay out of it. I would have your FH address this issue. if she feel slike she would rather wear something else and not a BM dress, then let her. but make sure you let FH and his family know it was her decision since he was not in her BP when she got married. and if she is pregnant now and will be about 9 months at your wedding, she is basically screwed because no way you and your FH are going to leave your wedding to see her. you an always go the next day.
Good luck!

Re: Bridesmaid Drama
Am I the only one who thinks it is unbelievable that people are asking you to include them (or their children) in your wedding party?
I cannot imagine having the balls to ask someone, 'oh, hey, I was wondering if I could be in your wedding party' or 'can my daughter be the 7th flower girl in your wedding? it's only fair since you've held her 3 times in her life'
i mean seriously, where do people get off??
thank god my family (and FH's family) know their roles lol

What does FH think of all this? Maybe he can help you make a decision. I always feel better when my FH is backing me up.

I have 3 flower girls but I could have EASILY made it 5. If it were me, I'd leave your FSIL out of the BP if that's what she wants. If your having a mass have her do a reading. If she doesn't want her child in then her child's not in. I do think it's a bit much that your mom is having HER best friends daughter in YOUR wedding. That I would have said no to in a second!

Re: Bridesmaid Drama
wow, i can't believe ppl actually behave this way!
if i were you I'd make the decision for her and politely tell her you think its best for everyone if they arent in the bridal party...and then she can wear her own special dress to the wedding
