Oh I understand totally what you are going through. I am going through my own issues with my BP and it s*cks! Last night was the first night I slept in a little over a week.

I just wish that there was a polite way of saying 'Its MY wedding, not yours, so do as I say!' without coming off as a bridezilla!

I am so sorry She sounds like a real PITA (no offense). Your mom is helping her and not around to help you with the wedding planning, she should understand that and be more appreciative. Try your best to just ignore her and focus on all the things that make you happy.. like the wedding, and FH... in the end who cares what she thinks or how she feels - if she is being so negative then pay no attention to it!! (i know easier said than done)

When my sibling got married 5 years ago, I was living in Washington DC. I came home practically EVERY weekend to help with the administrative stuff (like stuffing envelopes, printing placecards and wrapping favors). Now this sibling has 2 kids and I'm getting married. My mom cancelled at least 3 wedding-related appointments because of babysitting! My sibling did not help ONCE in my wedding planning process, but just hogged my mom the entire summer.

It really is ridiculous. I have tried to talk to my mom about it but didn't get us anywhere. I am really sorry this is happening to you, but maybe you can talk to your mom instead of your sister. Your mom needs to say NO to your sister and YES to you. Your sister is never going to stop asking your mom for help, so its up to your mom to say no.

I used to blame my sibling, but now I blame my mom. She is the enabler by dropping everything and babysitting constantly. She is the kids' grandmother, not the babysitter - HUGE difference!

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and hugs. Yes, it's so frustrating and these things happen to us during this important time in our lives. I am really thinking of writing an email to her saying to either stay on board or get the F*ck out if she doesn't cut the sH*t.

Seems like you really can relate. I too have tried talking to Mom and still nothing. Mom just looks at it like 'What can I do? If I could be there, I would.' Which makes me kind of understand. But at times like this when I have to deal with fricken nonsense makes me depressed / sad / mad / and angry at the same time!

Ahhh and this isn't even the first fight we had. One time she blew up at me at my Neice's birthday party because I made a smarta$$ comment. She threatened to drop out of the BP and I just laughed at her. The whole family was there and was just in AWE of how idiotic she was being. In the end, they felt bad for ME because I am doing this alone without my Mother. I don't get it. I really don't.

She really is making my entire engagement horrible. And I could sit there and tell her this. Ugh..... The more I think about it, the more angry I get. I am at work. I really shouldn't be dealing with this crap now.

Only difference is my sis lives near by, and is a HUGE compulsive LIAR! Then, she'll twist lies up and tell my mom and then I get 3rd degree from her as well. Just breathe... I usually just try to Yes her to death, b/c otherwise I don't think I would be able to make it to April. I mean, she even complained about the price for the tuxes when I was giving her a FREE one... everything always has to be about her... What does you Mom say about all of this?

My advice: you will not change your sister or your mother's behavior. Don't let this ruin your wedding planning process. Yes, planning is stressful but honestly, I kind of miss it now that it's over! Bring your closet friend to appointments and don't ask your mom or sister anymore - that way you won't be disappointed when they say no.

I've been married 3 months now, and my mom's behavior has not changed. I'm actually scared that when I have kids, my mom will not be there for me.

I could give you the advice by saying don't bend over backwards for her! I don't understand. You can be so nice to people and they don't appreciate it. I WAS yessing my Sister to death on the phone today during this whole dramatic thing and it pissed her off even more. So that's when I hung up with her. Her voice gets so whiney that I can't take it!

I know they will never change their thinking. I always schedule my own appointments according to ME and not anyone else because I am not expecting them to be there. How sad is that? I am going to bring my oldest Sister to appointments. She is really cool and I get along with her great. I thought I would miss planning a little while ago but today, I am wishing it were all over with so I don't have to deal with this crap anymore.

I am sorry that your Mom hasn't changed. I think though that when you have kids that hopefully she'd come around. My Mom promised that when I have kids, she will be there for me too.

I seriously could NOT agree with you more!! Sisters totally are nutty.I have one brother, and we never have any issues. lol. But I have TWO sisters...the oldest one I just simply can NOT stand...but the next one...is my MOH! Ha. She knows how to get under my skin as well...but only for helpful reasons. Like, she was planning my shower, and we had to stay over her house till 1am...and she KNEW i wanted to go to bed...but...taht's my sister! HAHAHA. Gotta love her...she just wanted to make sure that it was exactly what I wanted. Love her! But my other sister won't even help pay...she's doing other things instead...not like I care, but everything is money to my oldest sister. she was all baffled that I'm having a shower to get gifts, and then get MORE money on my wedding! What a loser...she KNEW this already with my other sister... SUCH a LIAR! lol. It always seems like we are always fighting to get the most attention from our MOm...so sad...

HAHA...nope...they NEVER grow up! My MOH sis is amazing though...people think we are twins...we're soo much alike! lol. My other sis is sooo opposite!! Blonde hair and blue eyes! HAHAHAHA. We joke that she was from the mailman!! Only joking...but she does look just like our great grandma...but her personality is NOTHING like anyone else in the family... sooo baffaling. LOL

I 100% AGREE. She is being a spoiled brat in this case. But, if you were to ask her, she'd say I am the bratty one. *Sighs* I hope we can resolve this temporarily at least. It will never be a permenant fix though. She always has been difficult since I was a kid.
