That is not right!!! Everytime the price drops for my honeymoon my travel agent sends me an email telling me I have a credit. I think I have a credit of about $500 right now. But honestly I think your travel agent should be the one looking out for better prices for you and def. should be more accomodating and responsive when you call. If he is not living up to his expectation it might make sense to cancel and rebook if you can. Like you said you will still be saving $1000. Where are you going on your honeymoon again?
I dont blame you for being pissed! Id take the $200 loss and go somewhere else!

EPM is having a awesome sale right now! I just cancelled my HM at Excellence Punta Cana and changed it to EPM because we are only paying $75 more for a rooftop terrace suite than we were paying for a garden view in Punta Cana! You definitley better get on this TA!

umm.... sorry thats not how it works! you are supposed to get the lowest price! Did you pay in full already? I went thru my travel agent that my comapny uses (I think I know exactly who you are talking about because I didnt want to work with him.. he seemed fake to me) and he emails me all the time, with different deals and pricing for our HM with the lowest prices! He always gives us the lowest prices.... honestly, cancel.. and rebook yourselves

i also think i know who you are talking about and i have to agree i got a fake vibe from him when i spoke to him on the phone. Cancel and rebook with someone else.

Have you tried contacting the resort directly? Maybe they'll give you the price adjustment without the hassle of cancelling and rebooking.

Did you get insurance? If you did, threaten to cancel and rebook on your own. That might make him want to help you out a little.
Btw...we STILL have not heard back from him. He said he'd call us back today definitely!!!

I guess a lot of people are trying to get price reduction right now. Especially with Mexico. It seems like the prices for Mexico have dropped dramatically...probably because of all the negative media lately.
