My fiance have had a very long engagment, we have been engaged since the summer of 2006 and we are getting married in the summer of 2010. We waited so long for financial reasons. We have never had second thoughts or gotten cold feet. The only thing that was annoying was people asking why are you waiting so long to get married? Are you married yet? etc.

One word of advice....if you know who you want to use for hair and makeup book now! They book really quickly.

I had a short engagement (6 months) and I wouldn't do it any other way in retrospect. I don't think I stressed out any more than I would have two years from now and now we just enjoy being married.
