I agree with the girls, call the cops. They will go and pick her up and bring her back home. Not suer what they will do, you can ask when you call.

ETA: If they don't do anything but bring back home, maybe it will just scare enough so she can cut that s*it out.

do any of you know, work with (teachers, counselors) teens that run away from home?

its thursday, my sister has been gone since sunday...she's 17....personally i hope she gets frostbite...but its killing my parents and i hate her for it

i feel so useless....what can i do?

if you know where she is try calling the parents of her friend and tell them to send her home or kick her out of their house. if they don't, then say if you don't, we'll call it kidnapping and call the cops!

i'm a social worker and i work at a school for troubled teens, i deal with this a lot. you're actually right that the cops can't do much if you know where she is, unless you are scared for her safety and then you should definitely get them involved. that said, my advice would really depend on more info on the situation. i'm totally happy to give some if you like, but this is a very personal issue so please feel free to FM me if you want to talk about it

for now, just know that your concern is the best help you can give your parents right now, and letting them know you are around to help in any way they need. hang in there!

thats what i was going to say... calling the cops isnt going to do much but probably piss her off and make it worse...

when she comes home beat her. it worked for me.
