I personally would let it slide, BUT be prepared to deal with the 'Well if he could, why couldn't I' BS.

Re: kids at the wedding question
I would personally stick to my original plan of no children at the wedding. Some may get offended. Also, if it were my wedding the girlfriend couldn't even come. My age limit is 18 and over.

She is a doll and I would NEVER not invite her. All of my cousins are invited. The youngest of my first cousins is 13.
I'm not implying that she is not. I'm just saying that my age limit is 18 and over. I have to stick to that because FH has many cousins who are teenagers. It sounds like you really want them there so then just tell them to bring the baby.

believe me, FH and i fought over this for a while but finally stuck to our original plan and we are not having anyone under the age of 18!
Some of his family is coming from CA and one already booked their flight with the kids (his mother apparently didnt know our decision but we are hiring a babysitter to watch some of the kids that the families who simply could not find a sitter.. they will be hanging out at the hotel with movies, popcorn and pizza!! lol

I would let it slide and let them bring the baby. Your family should understand. If they don't, you could just explain that you didn't want to have a lot of children running around. They were in a tough situation so you made an exception bc they are important to you and you wanted them there. End of story. This is your day and your party!

We didn't let it slide. FHs older cousins just had a baby... and wanted to come from FL, but she is still breast feeding and it would be her first time away from the baby.
If I let it slide for her, I would have to let it slide for the three other couples who asked me.
So, we stuck to our guns. They understood.

Re: kids at the wedding question
What if you tried to find a sitter for them here? Obviously someone responsible that you know. Then they can come but leave the baby at the hotel with a sitter. We are thinking about doing this for one couple.

I would allow them to bring the baby. People should understand the situation. And if they dont, too bad : )

Re: kids at the wedding question
We are having an adult only reception (except for the FG's and RB's) but FH's aunt & uncle who are coming from Europe have a 15 yr old son with special needs and they cant leave him alone in Europe. So unless one of the parents stays back in Europe with him, we have to make an exception.

make the exception! Don't worry about what people say. Your wedding, your call. tough shiit!!!!
seriously, it is kind of extenuating circumstances..... what does FH think? any other babies around with the same situation???

Re: kids at the wedding question
This ended up in a big fight for me. My youngest cousin is 7, about a 18 year difference from the second youngest cousin, my uncle and his wife wanted to bring her. NO children allowed, I had to stand my ground. I said 21 and over.
Doesn't your cousin's have relatives that can watch the baby that aren't related to you?
