Re: City Hall question
you get your marriage license at the city clerks office & you can not get married the same day.
we got our marriage licence at the city clerks office in Manhattan. when we walked into the office the man sitting at the first desk asked if we where there for a wedding license or for a marriage ceremony. if you are there for a ceremony he asks to see your marriage license & checks to make sure it is more then 24 hours old.
Taken from the Office of City Clerk website:
Marriage Ceremony in the City Clerk's Office
You may have a civil Marriage Ceremony in the City Clerk's Office. Marriage Ceremonies are held during our regular business hours. No reservations or appointments for a Marriage Ceremony are accepted. You and your prospective spouse must arrive together with the same proper identification you brought when you obtained your Marriage License. You and your prospective spouse must have at least one witness, who must be 18 years of age or over. The witness or witnesses must bring proper identification. We will not perform your Marriage Ceremony if you have not satisfied these requirements before the closing time of our office.
