Sorry to hear that wedding can really bring out the worst in people

That sucks that you lost a BM. People have busy lives and sometimes really can't make the time to do all that wedding stuff. I've only been in two weddings, but not that much was expected of me. I was told what dress to get, when and where the shower and wedding was and I showed up. That was all. I wasn't part of dress shopping, envelope stuffing or a lot of things. I think I wound up helping both them register, but really that was it.
I really don't expect a lot of my BM. I don't contact them a lot about stuff, and when I do I don't expect speedy responses. They are busy people and my wedding isn't their priority right now. I know picking a BM dress is going to be hard with them, but I'm prepared for that and I'm not going to get mad at them when it gets difficult.
Just remember, she was your friend for a reason. If her job as become priority number one for her right now, then that's just what it is. The tone of her message might not have been great, but that's what sometimes happens with messages like that, the true tone of it is lost. Talk to her, tell her you are really sad that she can't be a part of it and you hope her job calms down in the future so you can spend more time together.

I have 5 BMs and right now both of my MOHs are out of state (best friend in boston and sister in DC) my other two are pregnant- dues soon, so that really on leaves my one friend, but she works 12 hour shifts wed-sat. Good think I am anal and like to do things myself, and havent had need yet for the girls to help.

I realize that not everyone can put their lives in hold because IM getting married. and we are all at a time in our lives where money is tight and things are hectic. But these are girls that have been there for me forever. i could always count on them.

I didnt just pick girls just to keep the sides even. because then you start getting into fair weather friends, or fun bar friends and not the people who are your BEST friends.

You should be happy she is not going to be there because you dont need to stress and worry that she wont/cant help you with anything youneed
