2 of my friends are in the same situation... the girl who planned on that month first was pretty pissed at the other girl, i would be upset too!

Re: Would you be upset
does seem like poor timing. if you're in the wedding, it puts you in a spot...you have to be sure you can do her wedding...how long is yoru HM??? it would be outright unfair and impractical to shorten your HM plans to be in her wedding....your own HM is far more important...my point being, what if you had planned on a 2 week HM..with her wedding 2 weeks after yorus, you either have to change your HM or not attend/be in her wedding. IMO, that's just an easy call...your HM. you might need to 'drop out' of hers. she may drop out of yours...but that's really going to be a lot of stress for the 2 of you.

That stinks. My friend and I got married almost 3 months apart and that was a bit hard stretching the dollar and getting the time off for both. Not only is it just the wedding, but the shower and the bachelorette party too.

If my friend got married 2 weeks after me, I wouldn't go. My honeymoon starts the monday after my wedding and we are going for 12 days plus travel.

it's not what you guys think... It sounds nice to plan a wedding with a friend... but that's not the situation... when I was planning she basically alienated me and now she wants to plan together... when I was briefly telling her stuff about my wedding.. she would cut me off and talk about her weddding plans..long before she was even engaged!... she never showed any interest in my wedding. while I don't expect too much interest afterall it is my wedding...that I understand.. but I could never talk about anyhting pertaining to the wedding w/out her sounding sour and upset.. all because she wasn't engaged yet.. her attitude was bullsh*t if you ask me!
This is what I would be upset about, her attitude towards you and your wedding. I know that everyone is not going to be as excited as you are about your wedding, but to cut you off and start talking about her wedding is rude (before she was even engaged). And to be sour and upset with you and your wedding just because she was not engaged yet is also rude to me. However I would not be upset if my friend decided to get married 2 weeks after, or before me. FH's cousin is getting married 1 week after us and we talked about it and when they booked that day they understood that we will not be able to make the wedding because we will be on our HM, however we would be a part of everything else. The planning has been a lot of fun together and she has kept me on schedule with timing and I have done the same for her. We feel it truly has been a wonderful experience for all 4 of us to share this time together and to be there for each other. They are also getting married at our Church so we are doing Pre-Cana together and that has been so unbelievable. I look at this time we share with them for the weddings as a bonding experience that has made all 4 of us SO close! I hope that you and your friend have the same experience as we are having, and that you all enjoy this time together and planning for your beautiful days!

WOW! that is really nice... that you were able to plan and bond with your friend.. you were one of the lucky ones... but like I said... she was never happy for FH & I and really wore her feelings on her sleeve... and that was not fair.. she really made me feel bad for being engaged and happy...

i dunno i think you guys are taking this a bit too far. its 2 weeks after. who cares?? its not the week of the wedding, or the week after/before. you have no right to complain. they at least waited 2 weeks for you to come home from their honeymoon and can celebrate with them. and to be honest with you, it might take a lil away from HER wedding cause you'll be telling everyone about your honeymoon and everything. i think this isnt a big deal

Re: Would you be upset
honestly - i would be pretty upset
I got engaged the day after my best friend and i made sure she was booked and settled until i booked my day.
She is getting married on Nov 23 and I am getting married Jan 12 - so while it is still close it still gives us both enough time
we are also having a great time planning together - so i would be mad at your friend's disinterest too!
i probably wouldn't be able to go either if it was only two weeks after, i am waiting a day or two to go on my HM and i want to go for at least two weeks!
that really stinks but i guess there is nothing you can do at this point?

I sort of agree with this. Just because we're getting married doesn't mean we should expect everyone else to plan around us. I know with friends you don't want too much conflict, but 2 weeks does seem like a good amount of time. I just think that friend should expect a little less help from you once it gets around your wedding time - but to be honest, of all the weddings I've been in, and seen out of my friends, no one really asked the bridal party to do much work anyway. It was really just about them being there with the bride the day of.
