I was wondering why the website deletes posts? Isn't it helpful to hear good as well as bad reviews?

I was wondering the same thing. I noticed some get deleted. Are they not archived?

Re: deleting posts
Well it seems that the negative post about any LIW vendor gets deleted, do they delete the poster as well?

I didn't think so...I just didn't understand why negative reviews get deleted.

Re: deleting posts
The vendors probably pay to be on this site, bad reviews are not good for business even though we as the customer should see them. That's probably also the reason that every time we post about a vendor that is not on LIW we have to change there name in some small way, not paying - no free advertising.

LIW deletes bad posts about their vendors who pay.
Personally I think they should stay unless they are slanderous or vulgar.

I agree! Everyone doesn't have a great experience - they should stay so we can at least know what to ask, what to stay away from, etc.!

This is just point blank false. I have seen plenty of negative vendor reviews on this site. The post gets deleted depending on the language used in it. A post saying 'WORST photographer ever- DO NOT USE.' will be deleted where as a post that says 'Photographer arrived late and I was not impressed with the final product.' will stay up. Because the first example IS slanderous and the second isn't.
ETA: Believe me, LIW isn't just covering themselves, they are covering for YOU if they deleted your post. A vendor CAN sue you for writing things like that.

Well i dont think they delete the bad reviews based on language used, because i had a post on sat about a photographer/videographer that i hired for my wedding, the post explained in details why i was not pleased with the services received and how disrespectful the owner was toward me when i expressed my disappointment. The post was deleted and there was no vulgarity or bad languages used in my writing...so i dont think it's about covering us the brides.

No it was not a 'Bash Fest', it was the facts. So what was I supposed to say?? lie about what really happened?? I have emails to prove every single thing that I mentioned in that post, so i was not bashing anybody. I was speaking the truth and other brides should be allowed to know about that company so they wont make the same mistake that i made.

Re: deleting posts
I don't think your post was a Bash Fest Stefie22. I appreciate your opinion because I was still looking for a videographer (if it fit into our budget last minute) and his price was good. I was considering him still as a videographer, but I'm glad I saw your post before it was removed! I didn't even realize it was removed!
I'd met him in person for photos and he was so nice but we weren't happy with the quality of the photos in the sample books his photographers took so didn't go with his group for photography in the end.
Its a shame posts are removed like that! I had no idea you couldn't speak your mind on this board. I just thought there were preferred vendors and the girls here just constantly picked certain vendors. I didn't know reviews were censored.
I'd like to see other girls' opinions and judge for myself on who or what to believe.

Re: deleting posts
This is news to me as well, i had no idea that only great reviews were allowed in here. How are we supposed to make an intelligent decision if we dont get the see all reviews (good or bad).
What also surprised me is that, i did not even receive an email from LIWEDDINGS telling why my post was removed, if they were to tell me which part was wrong, i could have corrected it. Obviously it had nothing to do with the language used.
After my incident with this vendor, through research i found couple of bad reviews in other websites and 3 complaints closed with the Better Business Bureau. So ladies do your research before booking with anyone, because once the wedding is over it's over, there is no going back to fix it.

Re: deleting posts
I know for a fact they delete bad reviews of LIW vendors because those vendors pay money to advertise on here. For the $$$ they are paying, LIW keeps them sparkly clean :)
I was told this by a vendor

Thats why as soon as I saw it, I copied and pasted it to our fb page so that ppl could read it and make their own judgements before it was removed. The ppl that were concerned contacted the vendor AND thats how it should be.

I was told the same exact thing. I believe the word mafia came up in reference to LIW, as in the mafia of the wedding world. Got a bad review, LIW will take care of it if you spend the $.
and this thread will come down shortly as well, they usually do.
