DEMONSTATIONS PLANNED AT 6PM ON SIXTH AVE AROUND 52ND ST

Here is what we were just e-mailed moments ago:

Please be advised that a group of demonstrators will be assembling at 52nd Street and 6th Avenue for a 6pm to 9:30pm protest march re: 'Truth in Media' that is targeted at CBS, Fox and NBC locations in Midtown. We do not yet have estimates of the expected size of the group.

Thankfully I work until 4:30!!

Uh oh, that could mean a mess for me.

I know that if anyone works in the Blackrock building they are opening the 53rd st. doors only for people leaving, at 4pm.

we just received a similar notice... they are closing down a few of our exit/entrances into our building - we are on 7th btn 51/52nd

The Grassroots Coalition for Media Organizations has a planned demonstration/march today on 52nd between 6th and 7th Avenues. The march is scheduled from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. The route will continue down 6th Avenue stopping at media organizations (CNN, Fox, & NBC) along the way.
The building has decided to close the entrances to 52nd Street., Seventh Avenue and the North Galleria. They will have an additional four security officers around the perimeter to the building. Their contact at NYPD Midtown North informed them there will be ample police officers monitoring the area. At this time there are no plans of closing down 52nd Street, unless it becomes necessary.

Just called my office where a few of my coworkers are still working and told them to beware.

We're located on 6th between 46th & 47th.

You gotta figure they'll start to group up before 6pm.
