Deordorant Question - Crystal Rock Stuff....

Hi girls. Has anyone tried that crystal rock deodorant? My Mother swears by it. But I am afraid to try it and it doesn't work and I smelly, yuck! :)

However, when I put on my Dove (which I love), I cringe because I am so afraid of getting cancer. I use it so sparingly, and well you know the rest.

So anyone ever try it before???

Deoderant causing cancer is another one of those infamous Urban Legends.

I had gotten an e-mail a couple of years ago stating that deodorant was related to cancer, but I believe that there was a study to disprove that theory.

I hope you girls are right. My MIL told me that her doctor told her that there is a link between deodorant and breast cancer? I don't know. I will have to ask my Dr. It has nothing to do with the brand 'Dove'. That just happens to be what I use.

Anyone doctors out there who know for sure that this theory was disproven??

I tried the Crystal thing, and it did work, but it doesn't work for the long haul. I mean, it got me through the day, but the next morning, you could tell it wasn't the 'real' stuff, if you know what I mean!

Yes, I read it after I posted. Ok, I will try not to freak out. I really only worry when I put it on after I shave. Pores being open. But, you guys made me feel a lot better. I still plan on asking my dr. also just to be sure. But I am glad to read that it was just an urban legend.

You could rinse in cool/cold water to close your pores...not sure if this is 100% but I've always heard/thought that cold water closes your pores. That might help ease your mind also...

That is a good idea, except I hate cold showers... :((

I'd worry more about getting breast cancer from all the hormones they put in beef, dairy and poultry, not to mention the environment, artifical colors and preservatives, before I'd worry about getting it from my deodorant.

Just my opinion.
