sooo my fiance and I haven't looked into any vendors yet (florist, dj, photographer/videographer) and were concerned about the deposit and payment requirements.
What was your required deposit and how was their payment plan structured?
Thanks in advance. This info will really help us greatly in budgeting our finances.

so far I haven't had to leave more than 1K as a deposit. DJ was 500. I can't speak for everyone but my vendors seem to have payments every 6 months or so (or at epics) and most towards the event.

Oh and its better to pay cash if they let you (some do and some don't) for no tax reasons but if they don't let you then def use a miles card-- Ive been getting miles and free clothes like crazy

For my photographer it was 1/3 deposit, 1/3 by the day of and final upon pick up. For the DJ it was 1/3 down and then final 2 weeks before. You can ask them when you go speak to them and then always drop it off if you decide to use them.

We've been paying personal checks... we have a pricing stucture with the RH where we pay half a year before and nothing until maybe a month before the wedding.
Florist was maybe $500? Not sure because we gave extra.
DJ was I believe $1000.. Again, not sure because we gave extra.
Photorapher/Videographer was the same situation.. between $500-$100 I believe.

In deposits we left: Photo- $1,000 DJ- $500 Florist- $500
They all want the remainder either 2 weeks before or on the day of.

It really varies by vendor
rh: $1,000 at signing, $2,000 2 months later, $2,000 4 months after, $2,000 6 months later
florist: $300 at signing, 1/2 month before and remainder right before the wedding
DJ: $300 at signing and remainder the day of the wedding
Photo/video: 1/3 at signing, 1/3 a month or so before the wedding and 1/3 upon picking up album
Limo: $100 at signing and remainder the day of

most vendors just wanted a percentage of the total package and then two more payments closer to the date
